Nokia E72 leaks out in promo video form
Looks like the E71 is about to be upstaged as Nokia's premier business-class smartphone -- someone in Espoo's just hit the corporate YouTube account with this promo video for an E72. Upgrades include a five megapixel camera, a relocated headphone jack, and what looks to be an optical mouse instead of a D-pad -- a welcome upgrade for click-happy S60. That's all we know for now, but we're digging for more -- check the video after the break.
Update: The YouTube video's been pulled, but luckily the guys from IntoMobile snagged it.

Looks like the Bold.
not a bold comment
He's just trying to be Bold about his comments.
what shades of Bold gray would u like?
I heard excessive use of mobile phones make you Bald.
The Bold and the beautiful, you say?
looks like he took a picture of that big BOLDer
Looks like you guys are trying too hard to get high-ranked :P
I just googled for an image of the bold and i must say it doesn't look anything like the E72.
This is like the people who accuse every touchscreen phone of being an iPhone ripoff.
G get your eyes checked. The Bold has been out for so long, Nokia should have known comparisons would have been made as soon as that slapped that silver colored bezel on. And how do you not know what a Bold looks like and read tech blogs? You are like the type of people that likes to make half assed uninformed annoying comments. BTW, I never accused the E72 of being a bold "ripoff" as you insinuate.
Looks a bit like Bold but a more like E51 stretched to look like E71
It looks like a Nokia.
New video!*****

I just know all BlackBerries look kind of the same, a QWERTY and a landscape screen, except for the storm.
But i don't think i have ever seen a BB for real because they aren't that common here. And i wasn't speciffically talking about you, it just seems like 10 commenters up there think this phone is too similar to the Bold which i disagree with.
Dear God, Engadget. Do you read your posts before you send them out for everyone to see?
Everyone above me is a virgin
yes! pheew
Everyone below me is also a virgin.. which... Seven?
has anyone watched the video in HD...its amazing :)
Yes I did, but I can't tell you what the phone actually does. I was too distracted by the horrible tracking in post production. The screen floats on the phone through the whole video. How does a company that makes a brazillian dollars put out such a crappy promo vid?
Brazillian dollars? I thought only the brazillian government makes them
NICEEEE!
I want it lol
No n97 for me
Doesn't seem like much of an upgrade from the E71.....
But as long as it keeps its good keyboard, sleek profile, slick looks and blockbuster battery life, even a minor E71 update will still have its place. Not as a Nokia flagship, but for people who prefer a slim machine that still gets their e-mail and some web surfing done.
I'd say this is THE update the E71 needed - 3.5mm headset jack, probably faster platform (like the E55 etc), newer software platform (FP2), better cam (we'll see how much really)...all that's needed is there.
Now, if it also has a higher-res screen, it would be perfect.
Excellent. If it has got 3.5 mm Audio Jack with SVGA/VGA TV Out and if it can be charged thru USB, then this will be my Next phone
Because That's what stopped me from getting E71
My Dream Phone still remains to be E61i form factor (with features of E71)
1) Better Keyboard layout (bigger)
2) VGA Touch Screen Display
3) 3.5mm Audio
4) 5MP Cam with Xenon
this a bigger upgrade than 3 generation of ifone and 5 generation of bb combined. just what nokia is capable of.
I was just about to buy the nokia E-71, I think I'll hold off until I know a delivery date for this baby.
I've decided to do the same thing, but considering I live in Mexico.. It might take a while to get here, hopefully it's worth the wait.
same for me. Just want to change from N79 to the more functional E71 or waiting for E52... :(
Seriously, i was just about to buy one too. Im waiting for this, gorgeous!
From where?
In what form..?
I hope the D-pad is still usable for GBA, SNES and SEGA emulation...
They forgot to mention the tacky plasti-chrome band, in the list of upgrades. Nice phone and size otherwise.
Ever held an E71 or any other recent Eseries? There is no tacky "plasti-chrome", what looks like metal is metal.
If the E72 is actually a successor to the E71, then that "tacky plasti-chrome band" is actually made of steel.
E-series are metallic all around. The most solid phone you'll hold.
This isn't the iphone article...?
L, goes to show how good of a Nokia fanboy you are. The E71's base (where the microphone is located) looks like metal. It's plastic.
This is why Nokia fanboys simply suck. They defend shit and at the same time, they can't even get their shit straight.
Fools.
Is that so, iTard?
Go play with your toy and shut up, moron.
Hey At least ours is metal hahaha losers
Sorry guys, I forgot that Nokia uses real metal... yes, I almost bought the E71, but decide it was to small.
Let me rephrase my original complaint.
I find any bright chrome edging on the front of any phone disturbing because it produces glare which hurts my eyes. I have damaged vision now, and such things really bother me. I didn't get the original E71 in Gray for that reason as well... too shiny. The E72 looks very nice, but the chrome still bothers me, even though its real metal. :)
Perfect - I just bought an E71 last month! I'm guessing the E72 is still a year away from being released. I'm definitely digging the optical mouse function as shown in the video but yeah, probably not worth upgrading much. Although the 5 MP camera is kinda tempting...
The e71 is an awesome phone. I'm interested in this upgrade. I want to see more of how the mouse works.
Also, the e71 already has voice control.
What's the size of this phone?
What's the battery life?
I agree. I love my E71. Very sleek and professional looking phone. Judging from the recent new phones from Nokia, N97, E66 and such, I think they are going to stick with the BP-4L. Will Nokia finally add FP2 on this E series? A nice upgrade to the 5MP will be welcome.
form...spellcheck wont catch that
This phone looks incredibly boring and the flashy after effects graphics aren't helping.
*YAWN*
BOLD RIPOFF.
.
is bold thin and stylish? have 5 mpix camera?..3D maps?..front facing camera?
BB = FAIL compared to this, btw.
