We've got a number of tips this morning about lucky
iPhone 3G S pre-orderers getting shipment notifications from Apple. Naturally, with a high profile launch like this we're guessing Apple has done all it can to ensure shipments
won't slip through earlier than the June 19th launch date, but hopefully at least few folks will get lucky -- and at least they've got one of the only guarantees of a launch day phone going. In other news, an anonymous Apple Store employee has done some homework and tallied up average reservation numbers at other US stores -- he estimates about 800 people on average are on the reservation list per Apple Store (ranging from a couple hundred to well over a thousand), which amounts to about 200,000 reservations as of now, a number he believes could double before launch. There's no way to back that number up, but it sounds fairly rational. Finally, the iPhone 3G S firmware download link has made its way into the wild. Sure, it doesn't do you any good if you don't have an iPhone 3G S, but we thought you just might want to know all the same.

No shipment notification from AT&T yet. :-(

I might upgrade to this and use my 1st gen iPhone as a laser gun.
Does anyone know when the 3GS will be delivered (if available) if ordered through AT&T online? I ordered mine last week, but when I called to check on the order today, the lady told me that my order was complete and ready to ship, but she wasn't sure if it would be delivered on the 19th or the 20th...........she said that in-store orders would be available for pick-up on the 19th, but AT&T online orders were different? What pisses me off is I paid $15 extra for overnight delivery, so I assumed I would get it on the 19th. I hope I didn't hose myself by paying more for shipping and not even get in launch day? Anyone know anything more about AT&T online orders?
Those numbers are inflated (by at least 2): I'm on the reservation list at 2 different stores (1 by home, 1 by work) but ended up pre-ordering at an AT&T corporate store because Apple Stores still can't handle Family Plan accounts with FAN discounts.
Oh the joys of being a business user, traded my 3g in online @ mobile phone exchange and only paid 44GBP more for the 3gs :)

I ordered mine through Apple for delivery - I got an email saying that I would be getting it on the 19th...as of today my apple order status page still says Not Yet Shipped...Should I be getting worried?
Did anyone pre-order on ATT Premier? I pre-ordered mine on June 10th, with next day air delivery.
My status still says that the order was received and will be processed "shortly"

Do you think they will actually ship them Thursday for Friday delivery, or wait for Friday to ship them?
I just posted the same questions. I would hope that those who paid for overnight shipping will get theirs on Friday? I find it odd that those who ordered from Apple (with free shipping, are already getting confirmations of a Friday delivery. The only thing I can think of is since it's an overnight order that they will ship and confirm our orders on Thursday..........then again, if they are shipping from China like it says, it would have to ship before Thursday to make it here by Friday even shipping via. overnight. In other words, who the hell knows. Let me know if you find out.

I ordered from Premier and had a chat with a rep earlier this morning. She told me this:
Okay, well you should look forward to receiving that device on the 19th because you did pre-order the device before the 13th.
So she better be right!
I sent a question to the ATTNews twitter and they responded back fairly quickly that they will be shipping iPhone ordered placed before EOD 6/12 on the 17th for delivery on the 19th. Not sure what that means for folks that paid for overnight. My guess is that if you did that, you should be able to call ATT and get it refunded.

Yep. Mine says it's been shipped, and it's in Shenzhen right now.
Mines on it's way and the UPS tracker shows it's coming from SHENZHEN,CN China.
Estimated delivery is June 18. YEEE HAW!!!!!!
I've ordered my iPhone on the 8th at 1pm with 2-day shipping and I've just received a confirmation stating that it has been shipped from Shenzhen, China. Is that mean that I'll get my iPhone on the 17th? If everyone is getting theirs on the 19th, why did they allow me to purchase the extra 2-day shipping for $10?
@samo am I bit confused here still dont understand what would justify a big upgrade ?
If I reserve a 3GS (new AT&T customer going to port my Verizon number in...we are going to switch everything over then onto a family talk plan) can I pick it up late Friday night or Saturday or do you have to be in line at like 7AM Friday morning? We have to pick it up there because we are adding 2 iPhones to a family plan...

I've pre-ordered from CPW UK which is supposed to be shipping next day on Thursday. But to be honest they're not claiming that if you get a pre-order in you will get a unit - so I wait with baited breath.
Well the jackasses at the AT&T Premier site just told me that the 3GS I ordered online last week may or may not be delivered on Friday......sure glad I paid the premium for an overnight delivery! I asked AT&T why they didn't state this on their website, otherwise, I would have just ordered directly from Apple or scheduled for pickup from a local AT&T store! To top it off, they said if it wasn't delivered on Friday, it wouldn't be delivered until Monday b/c there are no overnight Saturday deliveries! Are you kidding me! So, I paid extra to guarantee overnight delivery and may not even get a 3GS until almost 4 days after everyone else? Unreal! Who it fuck devised this brilliant delivery schedule for a pre-order!?! Fuck AT&T!
I feel you... i thought about buying it from the at&T premier site too but looking at their supposed dates of delivery, i figured they werent a sure thing, so i bought it from the at&t store. i work for the school system so i get a discount on the plan, so that was an incentive to buy it from at&t (no extra step in having to call at&t and telling them you are a state employee), but I wanted it delivered by friday so i went with apple. I hope you get it soon my friend. I could have been right there with you.
Those that shipped on Jun 15 are likely to arrive by end-of-day June 18 on a normal delivery cycle. Just check out the UPS Time-and-cost function..

well I have the Voyager and it sucks. the touch screen is often not responsive. and the internet is usually slow. ive used an Iphone and all i can say is that the iphone owns voyager. now bring on the apple hate for my comment
I pre-ordered mine through AT&T. I'm beginning to think it was a mistake. They're 4 days away from the promised delivery date and I went into the store and asked them what the plan would be for Friday, and they had absolutely no clue! They are incompetent from the network down to the store level at AT&T wireless. The sooner Apple starts going with other U.S. carriers (i.e. Verizon), the better as far as I'm concerned! I'm betting I won't see the one that I was told would be waiting for me on the 19th until the 19th of July! They don't even know if they'll have two lines, one for pre-orders and another for wishful thinkers who want to line up when there are most likely enough preorders to account for the initial shipment. I'm not looking forward to Friday, and I have a feeling if I wait until Saturday they'll give mine to a guy who didn't pre-order but waits on line for the day.
the 3Gs has already outsold the Palm Pre and it hasn't even been released yet.

My UPS notification says it deliver on the 17th. I paid for two day delivery then had Apple reverse the charge. Lets see if it really shows up that early or not. I doubt it!
I ordered on day 1, no expidited shipping, and ups site claims delivery on June 17. Would be cool! Would be cooler if I weren't out of town. :)
AT&T says mine have both shipped, UPS does not have the tracking numbers listed yet though. I ordered mine on the 11th and am pretty confident they should be there by Friday. Planning to get there first thing in the morning to pick 'em up.
The AT&T store didn't have a clue about how things are supposed to go on Friday. I guess people reading engadget know more then the people working there (won't be the first time.)
I ordered a 32G 3gs black on July 11th,6:44AM PDT from Apple store.
I got a shipment notification at exactly 2:14PM EST on July 18th (I just happened to be hitting refresh at app store that time and saw the status switch from 'prepared for shipment' to 'shipped').
The fedex tracking says:
