Palm Prefection iPhone theme lets you have the best of both worlds, kinda
So you're an iPhone owner with a massive case of Pre jealousy, but you've got another year left on your AT&T contract. We know you're out there, and we know you're struggling -- you're feeling totally alone and misunderstood, like a lone voice struggling to be heard amongst the din of a thousand push notifications. A gadget nerd without a clan.
You don't have to live this way. You don't have to be trapped into a single touch interface aesthetic by the fear of early-termination fees and loss of Tap Tap Revenge compatibility. You have a choice -- you can jailbreak your phone and install the Palm Prefection theme. You can show the world you're not afraid to mix it up. Sure, you won't be able to multitask for real and no amount of fevered prayer will ever bring a gesture area to your iPhone, but that doesn't mean you won't be taking a stand. Fly high, butterfly. Video after the break.
[Thanks, Dave]

Cough. Uninformed. Cough.
But...but...Dashboard! On a freakin' phone! Surely that must be worth something?
Uninformed?
Really? I didn't just RANDOMLY decide to sell my soul to AT&T for 2 years without looking into others. I saw what the Palm Pre offered, looked into it, but found it really to be nothing more then something slightly different. Sure those slight differences might matter to someone else, but to me they don't.
Because you would much rather use an inferior device that uses 2006 technology and hasn't changed in 2 years.
Gotcha.
Someone missed the keynote...
iPhone 3Gs is apparently much more capable than the pre. More than double the processing power, ram, graphics etc..
I'm not rushing to the shops to get one though. Frankly, I was really disappointed with it. I was expecting so much more. Apple really dropped the ball with that one. I mean, it's still going to be better than the pre, but it's not enough to make me want to rush out and buy one.
As for old tech...it doesn't seem to have stopped millions and millions of people buying them and the device itself becoming iconic.
Doesn't use winterboard...therefore...pass.
Bah the Pre keyboard is wayyyy to small for me. I'm not sure who out there besides tweens could really take advantage of the otherwise amazing device.
Looks like the worst of both to me.
Hey, I know that song!
Plain White Tees- Revenge
But anyways, doesn't look that great. Funny/interesting but you know....it's like that iPSP thing.....pointless.
The only drawback for me is the fact that the Pre keyboard is WAAYYY to small for me and the IPhone doesn't have one (the touch screen kb is complete crap).... Will wait for the TP2 to hit then make a decision...
lol. I wish I could have this for my Sprint Touch Pro. It's actually liked this a lot! I have to say I also liked the clean desktop and having all of the apps under a launcher menu. It just seems so much more manageable to me than flipping through pages and pages of disorganized apps. The new spotlight in 3.0 provides a nice work around, but you're still left hunting.
Excellent work!
No multitasking?
What are you talking about?
This is a jailbroken iPhone, you're talking about. Use Backgrounder.
Duh.
But but, I want the pre hardware too :(
Can someone list these 'laundy-list' of features missing from the 3.0 iPhone?
Really, I'm honestly curious. I've owned Treos, Blackberries, WinMo phones, and currently use an iPhone with the 3.0 update (which solved pretty much all my major issues with 2.0). I must have magically missed all these useful features that the iPhone lacks compared to these other phones.
Can someone enlighten me? Please? What is the iPhone missing, that its considered a 'toy'?

> Nice, I feel sorry for iPhone users
I feel sorry for twats like yourself who still cling to their pathetic Apple Rage despite the facts.
Here's to you, lame anti-hipster hipster douchebag.
Sweet! Not as simple as checking a theme in Winterboard though. Get the download and details here: http://www.modmyi.com/forums/new-skins-themes-launches/629201-release-palm-google-page-ranking-fection.html
"Sure, you won't be able to multitask for real..."
Actually, if you jailbreak, you can multitask for real. Since you're already doing it to get this theme, why not install backgrounder?
"Sure, you won't be able to multitask for real"
This statement is not true. You can use Backgrounder to multitask. Since you're alreading jailbreaking to the the theme it's not hard to install Backgrounder.
Didn't see that Johnny said the exact same thing as me already.
Never understood trying to make one OS or app look like another. If you like the Windows / Mac OS / iPhone / Pre / whatever look so much, why not just sell what you've got and buy it?
I think this interface looks better on the pre. It doesn't quite work on the iPhone. And they've left out the only thing I envy about the pre- cards.
Once someone really hacks into it and gives us a cards interface for iPhone I'll jailbreak.
