Sony Japan's aluminum VGP-BMS10 Bluetooth laser mouse

You know, we thought this Vaio mouse that Sony Japan just introduced looked a little familiar -- that's because it's almost a metallic doppelgänger of the company's mouse / VoIP phone combo first spotted way back in the heady days of 2006. The VGP-BMS10 Bluetooth mouse features an aluminum case and a sliding cover (which does double duty as an on/off switch) meant to protect the buttons and jog wheel. And no, you can't place any phone calls with it.

Hot. I want it.
I'd rather say Cold, but I still want it
Might as well turn it into a heatsink so it will stay cool and all....
Sweet, this actually looks nice.
Nice. That older Sony bluetooth mouse was beautiful (and surprisingly comfortable) too.
I'm throwing my microsoft mouse in the garbage.
Don't try to confuse the Americans with your aluminium!
aluminium or plastic, dont trash it, please recycle!
Aluminium... Just saying.
As in you're just saying it looks uncomfortable to use?
Wow, looks nice!
It'd match my vaio laptop nicely!
And no, you can't place any phone calls with it.
Well, you can... but don't expect anyone to answer.
Not as sleek as the Mighty Mouse, in my opinion.
Its not trying to be
Oh come on now. I love Macs but the Mighty Mouse is once of the worst purchases I've ever made.
The Mighty Mouse has a lot to recommend it but unfortunately its right-click function isn't one of them and it is the reason why I returned mine. Apple really needs to sort that aspect of the product out (as is voiced by many customers, judging by the ratings and comments for the device on the online Apple Store) because in my experience it only works about 90% of the time. These days I am using a Logitech VX Revolution, which is a nice mouse that I dearly wish came with a Bluetooth interface.
I'd rather have a nice contoured logitech any day.

Whats your name again?
I think it's Geoff.
Stupid Sony, why did you have to make the sides and mouse buttons of the Vaio TT silverish chrome? UGLY
The all black previous TZ looks better IMO.
Looks swell. Not too sure about its ergonomics. What's the price?
Same here on the ergonomics side. Regarding price...
Sony = Expensive (especially anything VAIO related)
While it would likely be ok for mobile use, the mere idea of using this for hours on a desktop is not at all pleasing. Looking at other models, it will likely be around $100.
Looks like the designer slept through the ergonomics class.
Can engadget please stop having pictures where there is a blurry effect? It makes my brain hurt
The photographer focuses on the mouse where it should be.
Don't blame Engadget about it.
Sweet! I was thinking of picking up a new Arc but I might get this badboy now...
Funny, I was gonna say Engadget should shoot photos like this...
