So now that the
iPhone 3.0 launch is in full swing, we're wondering how it's going out there. Team Engadget appears to have made it through without any problems, but we're hearing sporadic reports of Apple's iTunes activation servers being slammed and potentially some kind of IE security certificate problem on Windows, which is leaving a few people with unusable phones while things get sorted out. Everything work out okay for you?

I downloaded the GM seed of the update for my iPod Touch from BitTorrent. I'm not paying 10 dollars for the landscape keyboard.
Apple is a FILTHY LIAR!!!!
Stereo Bluetooth still DOESN'T WORK!!!!!!!!!
I have a Jabra SP700. It actually worked before the update (I had to start a song then switch to the voicemail screen and I could hear music) now it doesn't. Which proves that Apple could have enabled it during the upgrade.
Has anyone heard from Apple on this?
Are you using AT&T but getting the message: "Could not activate cellular data network: You are not subscribed to a cellular data service"?
This can happen because you're on a PDA, Blackberry, or prepaid data plan. There is a quick fix by changing your APN settings back to what they should be (they appear to have a new APN just for iPhone 3.0).
Find an open wireless access point.
Browse to http://www.unlockit.co.nz/ from the iphone.
Select "Use Custom" and pick "US - AT&T" from the scroll list.
Install the new APN.
Turn off 3G.
Turn flight mode on and then off.
Data works.
You can uninstall the APN later if you desire. This solution also works for people on the GoPhone prepaid data plan who don't want to convert to a contract.
The picture in this article has the dumbest arrangement of apps I've seen.
But I'm part of a developer's beta test, I was able to get the 3.0 seed a week ago.
cracks me up that in 2nd place is "what's an iphone". hope they weren't trying to get any real data from that poll :D
My iPhone 3g was 'bricked' last night during the upgrade. The 3.0 upgrade processed (10:00 PM EST), but went into Recover mode, and iTunes never responded. I run iTunes on a PC. After 3 hours of bing/google research and trying to update iTunes, USB drivers, I concluded I needed to visit the Genius... AT&T this morning (Manassas VA) had 4 customers with 3G bricks, all (including me, #4) were sent to the Apple Store. The Apple Store had 7 users (all Windows PC users) in the 1st hour and a half of being open this morning all with the same problem, bricks due to 3.0 upgrade. The Apple store tech just re-baselined the iPhone, I connected it to my iTunes in the Apple Store (I run Windows 7 with an XP guest Virtual machine), and the phone restored the backup, resynched, and in the process upgraded to 3.0. I am happy again. PS. The Apple guys and I had a great conversation as I was demonstrating the vurtues of Windows 7 and running iTunes in an XP guest machine with the iPhone connected to the guest machine.... it is quite impressive!
I'm loving OS 3.0 so far, haven't had a single problem!
I had to downgrade because i wasnt able to jailbreak(tethering is a must!) 3.0 was okay...i like 2.2.1 with jailbroken apps better though...im gonna upgrade once the devs come out with the JB :D
Why am I not able to login to my Youtube account? Anyone else having this trouble?
Since I upgraded to 3.0: What's been happening more often than not, is that when I have my headphone plugged in - and not even listening to music - when I unplug them, a random song in my playlist will play very loudly. At first I thought it was the plug on my after-market headphones, but it just happened with my original Apple headphones as well. Is this happening to anyone else?
It seems the problem has gone away since I restarted my iPhone after the 3.0 upgrade, as I have not been able to replicate problem since then.
I hate having to sign into itunes every time I start the app store, anybody else hate this/know a way around it?
Its funny how 28% ppl voted for "What's an iPhone"...Lmao!
Hmmm, I've been able to copy/cut and paste since my Casio with WinCE 1.0 in 2000!! LOL
Let alone from my Omnia....
I don't hate iPhones but really, they aren't all that.
