I have the 3.0 GM release also. I don't think we need to update, it's the exact same build number. Itunes won't recognize an update is needed since there is no software newer than what you are using.

Having the same build number is, indeed, the *definition* of a GM ("Gold Master") release. :)
There must be a slight difference as the GM requires you to be a dev :)
