Sirius XM iPhone app is now live, streaming
It hasn't been Thursday too long, but as promised, Sirius XM's iPhone / iPod touch app has popped up in the iTunes app store, ready for your aural digestion. There's a 7-day free trial being offered, but yeah, eventually you're gonna have to pay. Now that it's there, we might as well point out the app's got a 9+ rating for mild profanity and crude humor. Worth giving up Pandora, Last.fm, or any number of other free music streamers already available? That's your call, so go download and decide for yourself.

Really? The daily round up and this.
BayCreek IT @ Jun 18th 2009 3:21AM
would the pre EVER have this???
inteller @ Jun 18th 2009 9:29AM
Sirius killed themselves when they started charging separately for streaming. Entering a space with a subscription fee when other better services are free is just stupid.
Tinu @ Jun 18th 2009 9:35AM
Really? Are you sirius?
Dillinger @ Jun 18th 2009 11:59AM
Why So Sirius?
sorry, someone had to do it
MadLogic @ Jun 18th 2009 12:30AM
I thought I was seeing things, I came home from the gym and my usual routine is to turn on SIRIUS on my laptop as I get ready for wonderful ARMY day, and I see that banner scroll on the scroll.............GREAT DAY!!
ChillyCat @ Jun 18th 2009 8:57AM
Been listening to "BUBBA" for years, on my low-life WinMo
Well, at least ya'll can finally C&P the good stuff to external storage
ChillyCat @ Jun 18th 2009 9:12AM
Thankfully, my low-life WinMo has streamed "BUBBA" for years
Just think.....now yall can "finally" C&P the good stuff to external storage.
Welcome to 2006
ChillyCat @ Jun 18th 2009 9:14AM
OOOOPS !!!!
NOT an intentional DUPE
Nikoss @ Jun 18th 2009 12:29AM
Babba Booey!
Chuck @ Jun 18th 2009 12:31AM
is stern available on this?
Nikoss @ Jun 18th 2009 12:36AM
I would think so.
Chuck @ Jun 18th 2009 12:42AM
i just scrolled through the channel lineup here: http://www.siriusxm.com/oniphone
and didn't see it. maybe its part of the "Premium Online"?
triggdor @ Jun 18th 2009 12:43AM
Well, according to the channel listing lineup by clicking on the picture in this post, no, Howard 100 and 101 won't be included. You get pretty much everything except the MLB/NFL/NHL/NBA game channels (get the NFL, MLB channels) and Howard channels.
That is pretty lame, I would consider getting the app and replacing receiver in car with this on my phone given they had Howard and the sound quality was decent.
Nikoss @ Jun 18th 2009 12:45AM
Wow I think your right. I cant believe they don't have Howard on this thing. You can stream it online, I don't understand. Sports is the only thing they usually don't stream. This sucks.
Tim @ Jun 18th 2009 12:55AM
Apparently there's a difference between "online streaming" and "mobile streaming."
"SIRIUS & XM offer all of the channels for which we have mobile performance rights. For that reason, certain channels which may be available on your satellite radio or online radio service may not be available on a mobile device like the iPhone."
Guess Howard's contract didn't include mobile devices. Wanh-waaaanh...
Dillinger @ Jun 18th 2009 12:05PM
Why on earth would you want this app, i mean no sports for the sports people and no howard for the howard peope, what does that leave 7 people listening to 80's music that is repeated every 2 hours?
niftygifty @ Jun 18th 2009 12:24PM
Well like i said before, Pocket Tunes is basically like listening to it on a computer web browser and yes you get Howard Stern.
DR House @ Jun 18th 2009 12:30AM
meh
triggdor @ Jun 18th 2009 12:33AM
Yeah, it's not showing up in the app store for me, and I want it. Not on the phone or the iTunes brand of App store...
Anyone else got this problem?
evets122 @ Jun 18th 2009 12:41AM
Yeah same here I haven't had any luck finding the app
Tim @ Jun 18th 2009 12:57AM
I'm guessing the iTunes search hasn't aggrigated the new app yet. You can get it by clicking the link:
http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=317951436&mt=8
Dallas @ Jun 18th 2009 12:39AM
Nope, isn't showing up for me either....
jchc84 @ Jun 18th 2009 12:45AM
They made us wait this long and now they teased us with it and are gonna make us wait another 3 months!
Rick @ Jun 18th 2009 12:42AM
My uncle has Sirius and it is awesome Amazing live sports coverage in his car all the time and of course music ,comedy and what not, but now I will have it on my Iphone!!! Nikoss @ Jun 18th 2009 12:45AM
Sports aren't streamed.
hunter @ Jun 18th 2009 12:47AM
I don't see stern on the channel listings? What's that about?
pinsleric @ Jun 18th 2009 12:43AM

You can download it from here!
nitetripp @ Jun 18th 2009 12:48AM
thanks a ton!!! i couldn't find it at all! sucks on the no Howard. that's all i have it for in my car. that and the First Wave. the dance stations are freaking horrid. all bad trance and pop eletronica. wish they still had Boombox.
Jack @ Jun 18th 2009 12:47AM
If you go to sirius website on your iphone and click the link you can get to the app.
App Store took a minute for me, FYI
Doug Deep @ Jun 18th 2009 8:43AM
Equivalent XM app has been on my WinMo phone for 2 years now, and I have to say it's not worth it at the prices they're offering. Maybe you can talk them down on price like you can the regular sat radio service.
Michael Nelson @ Jun 18th 2009 12:47AM
Is this Siriusly going to be $13/mo?!
WixosTrix @ Jun 18th 2009 1:22AM
well XM for WinMo when I had it in 07 was $9.99. Naturally the prices go up, I'm not sure how much it is now with AT&T. However it isn't the same Sirius/XM as you would have in your car, it's some stream channels that offer. Still was worth it, terrible on the battery streaming over 3G though.
MikeS @ Jun 18th 2009 3:31PM
$3/month for existing subscribers? When I get web streaming for free? Bah, knew I shouldn't have fallen for the prepaid XM two years ago. When that runs out, I'm done with Sirius/XM.
Dallas @ Jun 18th 2009 12:54AM
No howard...this is BS!
Jon @ Jun 18th 2009 10:51AM
I can't believe that! How do you put out a service without your top channel?
I would imagine they'll add Howard 100 & 101 soon. I mean, they HAVE to right?
triggdor @ Jun 18th 2009 12:51AM
Just type this address in your Safari on the phone and it'll get to the app page: http://itunes.com/apps/SIRIUSXMPremiumOnline
MadLogic @ Jun 18th 2009 12:55AM
SIRIUS APP = FAIL - unless I missed it, there seems to be no HOWARD 100 or 101, someone please tell me I'm wrong.
Kraken @ Jun 18th 2009 12:54AM
I'll stick with Shoutcast kthx. I'm not gonna pay for radio.
TheButlerDunnit @ Jun 18th 2009 12:54AM
It's official; no Stern, no NHL, No MLB, No NASCAR
ferris209 @ Jun 18th 2009 12:55AM
I'll be glad when their is officially no Sirius.
Kevin Weel @ Jun 18th 2009 12:58AM
No Howard. Sooo weak. I'm calling the show tomorrow and giving him shit.
SteveH @ Jun 18th 2009 11:01AM
How did your call go? Must have been pretty one sided considering howie is too important to give his fans a live show on fridays.
Michael @ Jun 18th 2009 12:58AM
I definitely see the merits of sirius, but is it worth the extra $$$? I'm not so sure.
Pandora FTW
CS @ Jun 18th 2009 1:04AM
i finally got it installed and started using it! It's great! I am really confused though, why woudln't Howard be on here?
Tim @ Jun 18th 2009 1:08AM
$$$
Snifs @ Jun 18th 2009 1:10AM
Currently no Howard Stern, hopefully this will change soon. FAQ says they need "mobile rights" for certain channels.
wiredsen @ Jun 18th 2009 1:11AM
No 1st Gen iPod support. Lame.
PsyKodeLicReLic @ Jun 18th 2009 1:28AM
No your lame cuz you still have the 1st gen. this app is awesome
CS @ Jun 18th 2009 1:12AM
you're saying he wants MORE money? Doesn't he already get paid a billion dollars?
