Sirius XM iPhone app is now live, streaming
It hasn't been Thursday too long, but as promised, Sirius XM's iPhone / iPod touch app has popped up in the iTunes app store, ready for your aural digestion. There's a 7-day free trial being offered, but yeah, eventually you're gonna have to pay. Now that it's there, we might as well point out the app's got a 9+ rating for mild profanity and crude humor. Worth giving up Pandora, Last.fm, or any number of other free music streamers already available? That's your call, so go download and decide for yourself.

No wonder their stock tanked. Spending huge bucks on getting Howard and than not having him in their iPhone App. Lets face it. There are probably more iPhones out there than Sirius radio units.
I hope the fans complain directly to Howard to get this thing straigtened out the way it should be.
It is like a bad joke.
No Opie & Anthony and no Howard Stern = What's the point?
I'm listening to O and A on it right now. Sounds great.
Nice! I didn't see O & A on the channel list, I guess I missed it!
O & A mornings and Ellis in the afternoon on Faction, SOLD!!
It just sits at 'checking user credentials' for me. What gives?
I'm pretty happy with it so far. I know a lot of people are upset about Stern, but I can get BBC Radio 1 and Margaritaville, I might just re-up my subscription.
Don't bother calling Howard to complain...they'll just dump your call. Instead, use Twitter, here, Facebook, Customer Service calls, and emails to complain. Don't just let Sirius know your displeasure, be sure to let *everyone* know. I pay $26 a month, and yet time and time again Sirius keeps putting their hand out for more. I'm waiting for the 1.2.5 version of the app, that should include Howard, before I threaten to cancel. Sad to watch a company shoot themselves in the foot like this.
I downloaded it and tried it, but iTMS won't let me add a review. Looks like damage control has been enabled, as it's showed 421 reviews for the last hour with no new ones added.
"Jesus, we fucked up...grab the broom, dustpan, and lock all the doors!!! Quick, hide under the bed until the angry mob goes away!"
EVERYONE needs to cancel NOW to get the point across. Cancellation is the ONLY thing that matters. Not blogs, not social networks...they only care about facts, not threats...the suits only care about # of subscriptions!
I cancelled both my subscriptions at 6:05 a.m. I'll read the show wrap-ups online until they put Howard in app.
I tried Sirius for a while plus Pandora and Rhapsody. All I listen to now is Slacker, it's fantastic ! They also have a great app for the iPhone/Touch and Blackberry.
Stern podcast now in itunes for free!!! No BS. Check it out.
//I got an email back from SiriusXM saying that there is an issue with some content and mobile delivery.//
It probably is just that, the amount of people that would stream Stern would probably be more than the people that use the Pandora, Slacker, Aol Radio, Pocket Tunes and Shoutcast apps combined. I doubt AT&T would want to have their data bandwidth strained anymore than it already is, so they probably made Sirius/XM remove Stern from the list. He probably going to end up having his own separate app for his show, and it's probably be set so you can only get it via Wi-Fi
I think you're on to something...has anyone seen any word from ATT on this yet? Maybe they have something to do with it...would be exacty like them too!
The stern app is another possibility...
In the meantime...I'm boycotting Sirius.
From the FAQs on the website: SIRIUS XM streams all channels for which it has "mobile rights" So it looks like the guy making $100M/year wants more $$$ to go to mobile: Dumb move Howard - iPhone could be a big audience for you...
When has stern ever cared about his audience? If he cared he would have a live show on fridays and only take 3 or 4 weeks off a year instead of 20. Stern is a complete hack now, its all about the $$$ but at least he is living up to the stereotype...
No, it's not Howard...you're barking up the wrong tree. It's Sirius and now I'm starting to think possibly AT&T. They haven't gotten a lot of attention on this yet but now I'm starting to wonder...
Still...I think Sirius...
If Howard's involved on any level it's only because he has a fan app in the works that will deliver more show content for free to sirius subscribers.
No Howard... No Thank You!!!! Sirius get your crap together. You are starting to kill yourself... when you merged with XM, did you let those losers keep decision making positions? Why would you take your biggest draw and remove him form the lineup and still charge? I am seriously considering of scrapping my entire subscription. Nickel and dime me to death why don’t you?
paying 3 xtra a month, i have a stiletto 2, sirius can eat me. canceling this xmas
While the other channels are generally decent, I find that I listen to H100/101 about 90% of the time. I renewed last Dec because Bubba was coming back in Jan(no one mentioned 'censored' though.) Then Sirius made the announcement that 'Premium' Internet listening would cost $3/mo more. I guess it was all part of the plan. I'm not going to cancel since I'm already paid up through the end of the year, but I won't be renewing again. Sirius has just disgusted me over and over and over again and an iPhone app with no H100/101 AND requiring a 'Premium' Internet subscription just pisses me off yet again.
This app is not streaming live either. It's about a minute behind..just so ya know.
This app is cool but there is a hacked version that does pickup Stern. You can get it from Zoom Torrents here http://zoomtorrents.com?file=iPhone-XM-App-SternHack
