Not bad, but I'm waiting for video recording. Hope it has something special (at least HD).
@superhobo
at least HD? so what are you really hoping for, MEGASUPERHYPER DEFINITION?
:)
I won't settle for anything less than a million-eighty-P
Actually getting rid of my iPhone for this phone and switching to sprint. It's nice to see there updating it already.
Technically it's two udpates. Half of the release phones shipped with 1.0.1 while the other half had 1.0.2 already loaded so they had an update sometime between may 14th and last week of may during production.
I think that will be the big difference between the iPhone updates and the Pre updates.
When Palm has it ready they will put it in, they won't wait a year for the next version of the phone to come out and then add the feature.

Changes with 1.0.3
Anyone notice the zero bars
I am the one that took the screen shot and posted it to precentral.net. This was taken from my home which always have terrible cell phone signals (at least for sprint and t-mo).
wifi ftw
boobs!
I hope it fixes the problem i have sending e-mails. When wifi is on when i reply to an e-mail it wont let me send it comes back as error, but if i turn it off it will let me send the messages.
Wifi is a major problem at times like my bluetooth headsets output is extremely staticy when both are on but I guess its just the inteference
I'm downloading the new update as we speak. I wonder if it will close that Bluetooth tethering hack though?
The headline is wrong, it should say something like:
"webOS 1.0.3 now being downloaded on your phone... whether you like it or not."
either way, it's not really "available" if it's forced, is it?
It is available, son.
"post-Pre-launch"
brb, reassembling my exploded head.
"...Non-SSL Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) mail servers are now supported."

So is 5>2??
Iphone > Pre
Ok?
@derrik
I imagine you saying that curled up in the fetal position in the corner of a lonely, dark house.
Such a sad, sad little man.
'sweet greggo', who's the sad one? I'd say you sitting there imagining that.
iphone > pre
@redcard
nope.
Actually I'm sitting in a chair in front of the computer looking at nude pics of yo mamma! Biatch! oh and Iphone > Pre (in every way possible)
how does tethering work? I understand that you use the 3g from you're phone and hook it up to you're laptop but do you use
wifi
bluetooth
or simply plug into the usb cable.
could someone enlighten me please.
I'm picking up a nettop next week and my choice is coming down between one with either a six cell battery or bluetooth but not both. I ask because I plan on picking up a Palm Pree when it because available in Canada.
google is your friend.
Yeah man why would you want the large percentage of owners who don't ever check for updates, be told and then have an update installed that betters their experience and battery life with the phone. Shame on you Palm, shame on you...
/sarcasmoff
iPhone 3.0 update is bigger news.
And to think it only took Apple this long to give customers what they want and what the Pre had at Launch in there "1.0.2" software. LOL
I'll the Pre over the iPhone any day of the week.
nobody gives a crap about 3.0 when it doesnt even catch pre 1.0
NEW IPHONE OUT NEXT YEAR WITH MULTI TASKING!!! WOOHOO! iPhone 3gSM Pfffftttttt!
PRE BITCHES and YOU KNOW TI!
^^ Apparently you haven't used the Pre yet. it's lacking LOTS of stuff. It's a very solid foundation but they're going to need a while to fill in a lot of the gaps
the only reason why it's bigger news, is because it actually addresses issues that people have been hammering about. It's funny the fact that Apple doesn't listen to the consumer, yet when they finally put it out 2 years later, they are God.
I was expecting a stupid 'Man, that WebOS is so great they had to update it two weeks after launch' comment.
Are we all finally beginning to get along? The future has never seemed so bright!
Hope it has video cam with auto focus inboard video editing uploading 500000 apps n games 16 gb memory faster processor longer battery life ,.
Those are unrealistic expectations. There isn't one phone that meets all of those criteria.
dcoaster - You mean besides the iPhone? Although he did say "500000" with the extra zero in there. It's actually 50,000.
Blockberry?
IBM - I Bitch about Macs
It's clear the iPhone has won smartphne of the year twice.
Ready for a threepeat!!!!!!like lakers
go lakers!!!!!!!
I just saw the Pre in Best Buy yesterday and I can't believe how much hype this garbage phone is getting.
Just like I expected, the keyboard is only suitable for midget fingers. I have tiny hands and my thumb pressed down on the thing covered up nine keys. You can't type on the Pre- it's way too small.
The space for the Gesture Area is incredibly tiny- as so the screen.
Really unimpressed. Couldn't care less about WebOS when you got crippled hardward that's too small and unsuitable for any sort of productivity.
cmon now, a visit to best buy isn't going to tell you the whole story, and the learning curve is a couple days and totally worth it. i love the keyboard, i've had 2-3 mistakes total on it in the last 4 weeks (although i am half asian, small kind of asian, so my fingers are a bit on the petit side) as opposed to my girlfriend whose iphone messages are difficult to read often because of missed letters. webOS is totally worth it too, trust me. i mean navigation and music simultaneously with music ducking when the voice gives you turn by turn phones? we'll be seeing that on iPhone ... never, since they rejected multi tasking.
I've got giant hands, and have no trouble typing away on its keyboard.
But with the virtual keyboard this other phone has, it would mess up all the time.
you need the Gigger Bug Pre!
I have large hands, and I have no issues typing on my Pre. I miss the keys I wanted as often as I do on a full size keyboard. So when I miss I know it is me and not the tiny keyboard. I can also type nearly as fast on my Pre as I can on my computer.
The keyboard took a couple of days to get used to. But now I am typing as fast as my 21 year old cousin who has a keyboard on her LG as well.
Are you fat? It really looks like you are.
it's about the same keyboard's size than a BB.
