Palm webOS 1.0.3 update now available
Looks like the first post-Pre-launch webOS update is now being pushed out -- Pre owners, get ready for 13MB of 1.0.3 awesome. We're getting a full list, but Palm just told us some of what's new includes better Exchange email support, faster Google calendar syncing, and a bunch of app improvements.
Update: Palm's posted the full release notes here.

My hands are the size of dinner plates and my index finger often presses both buttons on a mouse because it is so wide. I have trouble urinating and suffer from migraines.
I have no problem typing on the Pre's keyboard.
so anyone know what happens when you're installing an update on a low battery and not finish installing when the battery dies? my pre warns me emphatically not to disconnect the battery during an install... (btw this is my second install on the pre despite what engadget says, i had a 67 mb one on release day.
It wont' let you run an update with less than 30% battery life.
That first update actually was on some of the phones out of the box. It was released during manufacturing before launch. My phone needed an update some others didn't.
Thanks for the update on the update!
Getting it now!
Sigh, were is the gsm Pre?
c-c-combo breaker!
still did not fix my exchange root certificate issue
try setting up and changing server name to http://yourserver.yourdomain.com - not https:// that did the trick for me
One serious issue I noticed fixed is that when I use is as a phone I am no longer logged out of the messaging app. This was one of my most hated issues with it - makes me warm and fuzzy to know it was fixed.
It shouldn't let you install it if the battery is under 30% - it gives an error otherwise. I assume it stops trying to install it if it drops below it, or it just assumes that 30% will be enough for the entire process.
In any case, I guess the answer is "no, I don't know for sure - but it looks like palm covered their butt in the case of a low battery."
downloaded...yeah!!!!! blowing up my current accounts and work-a-rounds to bring EAS online. (self-signed certificate wouldn't take before...should work now...prayers, prayers, prayers.....)
ok I've google this and all I can find is that it can tether. what I'd like to know is how.

or cable.

Congrats
Wow, a Pre update is only 13mb. Nothing much could change there except for fixing a few of the plethora of bugs the pre is known for. Whens the first 300mb+ update that actually gives the pre some more features? Hmm?
Are you speaking as a pre user? Just curious.... BTW: I heard from a friend doesn't count.
How long did it take iPhone 2.0 to come out? I suspect we're looking at the same wait for new Pre features as well. I'm sure they have a huge list of bugs that need to be fixed in 1.x before they can really move onto building more features in -- or you'll just have a horrible mess of an operating system in 2 or 3 years as features build on top of bugs that get fixed and break seemingly unrelated things all the time.
I love my new Pre! Update away Palm!
No Kia
What's a Pre? And why does it have to fix stuff after a week?
You mean as opposed to fixing little things like copy/paste and MMS 2 years later? Yes I see your point.
Touche BaDZeD! ;)
Because a huge number of people started using it and noticed bugs that weren't an issue before perhaps.
So far my battery is holding stronger and the whole os is much snappier*and I thought it was fine before*. The wifi seems to be quicker. Very good first update, but I'll really be excited when I get flash or video recording.
I ran through a series of app launches and the before an after was noticeable, and the battery thing is obvious at this point in the evening.
PREtty sweet! I think I just PRE came all over my pants DAMN!
you can purchase movies from sprinttv app
"Clock
If you create a weekday alarm on a weekend, the alarm sounds only on weekdays. Previously the alarm would sound on the weekend also."
HILARIOUS - this seems like a school project.
IMHO I don't like the idea of my phone being update OTA, one of the things I didn't like about verizon. Why can't it be an option? Much better for homebrew stuff.
Oh and BTW don't blame apple for not including features at launch of the iPhone.
Pioneers rarely have every luxury.
Good start with some obvious weaknesses. Not bad for a 1.0 device.
