SciPhone shocker! N12 handset features 'genuine' Android OS

It looks we don't have ol' SciPhone to kick around anymore. Sure, we had some laughs -- mainly due to the fact that the irony-resistant handset manufacturer was ripping off an open source OS -- but now it looks like all that has changed. The SciPhone N12 (apparently) runs genuine Android, sports both quadband GSM and WCDMA (3G), and packs a 3.2-inch touchscreen, WiFi, a GPS module, CMMB TV support, a 3.2 megapixel camera, and a 624MHz Marvell processor under the hood. Listed for CNY $1,600 (roughly $234), this bad boy should be out June 25. Check out a couple more pics after the break.

Well since it seems like you were petitioning for this design I guess it's like you got your wish...except it wasn't T-mobile who listened, lol.
Given how ignored most petitions are you now probably have the most influential phone design petition ever hahaha.
The screen is smaller than my design, and the phone doesn't have a qwerty.
So they basically took my design, fucked it up using photoshop (smaller screen, more dead space below) and called it theirs.

Looks like an initial rip off between Touch HD and G1, its a good job though.. I prefer the Touch HD keys though

With a name like SciPhone... I can't help but to think of MST3k and cheap 3D special effects. I hope it has both.

It's cheap for a reason. No matter what the specs list says, they're offering it at a discount because they cut corners to reduce manufacturing costs. That means reduced quality.

So either it's a total fake, or they have ripped off every bit of design from Touch HD. (LOL)

Take a close look at the price before posting your comment. The price is a killer since most androids are suspected to be quite expensive when made by samsung and other namy companies.

Needs some WinMo 6.5 before I'd consider buying it.
Real Android, KIRF phone. I could care less about cellurer broadband. EDGE is more than than I need. Since it has WIFI, it's totally up my alley. The is a serious contented for my monies. Still.. I'm saving up to build my own Cellphone, build cost will be around $400.
Now that sounds like my kinda phone... I can't wait to get the full specs and read an independent review....

anybody? or are customers in asian only able to use a phone like this? I have sprint (in USA) and they don't have a good selection of phones. PS, i'm on sero so I won't be getting the Pre!

Frankly speakly, i do not recommend you to buy a clone phone from Sciphone. This is a Chinese brand, I traveled to Shenzhen, China. Bought a Sciphone i9+++ which attacks me a lot. But it bother me when i was back home. It is very hard to open the back cover when you are going to replace the battery.
If you are rich enough, go to buy the real one. If not, stay away of this clone brand.
Why does your SciPhone i9+++ attack you? Are you treating it badly?
