PhotoFast CR-7100 MicroSDHC adapter helps obsolete CF cards
That noise you hear is the sobering death rattle of the CompactFlash memory format. Allegiance to the now decidedly less than compact memory sticks seems to keep crumbling away bit by bit. The latest assault comes in the form of this here converter, capable of utilizing a MicroSDHC card in the high-end camera of your choice. The CR-7100 is available in Japan now for ¥2,980, or about 31 greenbacks. Here's hoping this agent of memory interoperability nirvana shows up in US and European markets sooner rather than later.

And why not put the SD card in the SD slot of your camera.
CR-7000 (SDHC to CF) and CR-7200 (4x MicroSDHC Raid-0 to 64GB) actually makes more sense CR-7100.
not only does it make more sense, but it could do some awesome tricks. Original iPod Mini? 64GB edition. Infinite G35 + your entire library. Nettop computer + solid state and cool operations.
Hey Engadget, I'd wager your site might get a few visits here and there from professionals in video, photography, music etc, so lets stop calling for the "death" of Firewire, CompactFlash, etc. These are robust, reliable and fast technologies that are still in use for a reason.

Think an SD would fare so well?
and we'll see what USB 3 brings, but right firewire offers better speed, lower latency for time-sensitive apps, and more reliability.
"IEEE 1394b is used in military aircraft, where weight savings are desired. Developed for use as the data bus on the F-22 Raptor, it is also used on the F-35 Lightning II.[27] NASA's Space Shuttle also uses IEEE 1394b to monitor debris (foam, ice) which may hit the vehicle during launch.[27] This standard should not be confused with the unrelated MIL-STD-1394B." - from wikipedia...
"SBC boards out there that still support ISA and a jizzalian serial ports."
I LOLED so hard.
I have a hard enought time finding a decent gaming MB that lacks PATA/PS2/Serial/floppy controler, who even uses those any more?
Prosumer! I love FireWire and CF, lately it just seams that SD is more convenient for me lately.
I can't see photographers using this. One of the reasons CF hasn't died is that it's easier to handle and rugged. Who's going to try swapping micro-cards with gloves on or in low light?
