Also, how does he manage to drop the phone when he stands still near the pool and doing nothing but shooting video?
The only reason I can think of is the iphone got hit by flying bird crap, and it decided to jump into the pool to clean up itself. If this is true, it is really amazing.
@dennis: or he was moving his fingers around and it accidentally slipped from his hands, which is believable since the iPhone is pretty slim. That's the only logical explanation I've got.
could be a lanyard, but i'm not convinced. he's holding it above the water in that shot, so it'd have to be a pretty long one. could just be some railing or a step under water. or it could totally be a lanyard. you can see it also when he's bringing it up just a few seconds before that shot.
While its tablet world topping pixel density, Tegra 2 silicon, and fresh to death OS certainly sound awesome, we had to get our grubby mitts on one to see if it's as good as its spec sheet would have us believe.

its shooting video?
That's right, Apple invented video recording. How silly of us
You can see the iphone shadow at the bottom of the water.

You know it's an iPhone because it's the only device that can actually slip out of one's hand.
Whether it's an iPhone 3GS or not, it has a lanyard so it wasn't naked if it was.

Must be a crappy lanyard if it disconnected when it hit the water
Could be a lanyard for pool locker keys or something else totally unrelated.
