Hey, look at that -- it's Panasonic's super-hot
one-inch thick Z1 wireless HDTV, just cold sitting out for sale in a San Jose Magnolia store. No official availability announcement yet, but we're guessing it's coming soon, right on time for the Z1's planned
summer debut. Everyone got their $6,000 ready?

Forget the TV
Look at the game being played. South Africa should have won that. Brilliant strike by Alves though. USA vs Brazil final
USA!!!!!!

i just wish ESPN would get rid of the ubiquitous bottom line during soccer broadcasts. i can understand the ESPN2 excuse (although i don't agree with it) simply because the bottom line was one of ESPN2's trademarks when it first started.... but to run it all the time when a game is on regular ESPN is offensive to soccer fans.

gonna be another 3-0 rout ;)

Now all we need is for them to pick up on the wireless electricity trend, and I can finally replace that mirror on my ceiling with something a little more useful!
Soulsaber @ Jun 27th 2009 2:40AM
There is a mirror on your ceiling?
m @ Jun 27th 2009 2:58AM
so... if i understand you, what you're telling us is that you prefer porn to actual sex?
GodCentMe @ Jun 27th 2009 3:31AM
@m
No, I think he's saying that he prefers himself to actual sex.
ShadowMaker @ Jun 27th 2009 3:26AM
So since it's wireless, I guess it runs on DD batteries then?
Shinigami @ Jun 27th 2009 3:41AM
No, it runs on two AAA batteries.
Vanillacide @ Jun 27th 2009 6:26AM
Aye, no power-cord then?
Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. Rather than simply plug one end of HDMI cable into source and the other end into display, one has to get two devices to 'talk' to each other over wi-fi network -- like we all know that's perfect and always full bandwidth with no issues.
Myarkangel @ Jun 27th 2009 3:40AM
Forget the mirrors and getting laid. Has anyone see this hot Panny in action? If it as good as advertise you get the mirrors and get laid the same night.
Cameron @ Jun 27th 2009 11:54AM
Hmmm, how does that work exactly? "Oh, look at that hot, sexy TV - do me now!!"
Good luck with that.
Myarkangel @ Jun 27th 2009 3:47AM
Okay, you smart people help me out here. If you could have the Pioneer PRO101FD or Panasonic Z1, which one would you pick and why?

Maybe just a silly note... In title is written "HDTV appearing in US retailers". Is this really grammatically correct? Because I would expect more something like "HDTV appearing in US retail stores". Retailer is in my opinion person and I hope there is no HDTV in any person. I'm not native speaker though, so maybe it's correct and it sound strange just for me.

Guys, this new plasma HDTV is absolutely AMAZING! This thing has WirelessHD. That means that the TV only needs to be pugged into power to operate. Everything else gets plugged into the control module which is separate from the TV. That module talks back to the TV wirelessly at 10 gigabits/sec. That includes a QOS (Quality of Service) guarantee when the module is within 10 meters of the TV. This means you will get full 1080p HD video and uncompressed HD audio at up to 7.1 surround sound from your new high end Blu-ray players - from across the room! This makes wall mounting installations much simpler. No more expensive installs by running a bunch of wires inside your wall to keep them out of view. Just wall mount it, give it power and you're done! Also, this TV is only 1" thick. Great for those of you that like to do the whole low-profile, slim-line wall mount thing. Some in the industry trade press got a hold of early pre-release versions of this TV for testing at some trade shows earlier this year and called it "The single best, most technologically advanced HDTV we have ever seen...period. This is the HDTV by which all others will be judged. It doesn't get any better than this!" If you love HDTV technology and like to be on the absolute cutting edge of what the market has to offer, you are going to want to go in and see this TV as soon as your local store has them in stock, I can assure you.

O hello there mr. best buy employer
Herbal Ed @ Jun 27th 2009 5:27PM
Great plasma .... lousy looks. I hate the silverish bezel. Also, disappointed they don't offer a 65-incher in this model. In spite of the very cool wireless features and ultra thin profile of the Z1, I'll be buying the 65-inch V10 instead. Life is cruel.
i_am_rich @ Jun 28th 2009 5:50AM
yeah what a fantastic goal

I was at the Abt Electronics store in Glenview, IL and they had it on display. You can also purchase it on their site: http://www.abt.com/product/41037/Panasonic-TCP54Z1.html.
