Sprint launching BlackBerry Tour on July 20th?
When the teaser went up, we knew the hotly anticipated BlackBerry Tour for Sprint was right around the corner, but the only hint of a release date was "later this summer." Lucky for us, the, um, insiders at Inside Sprint Now have clarified the vague window for all of us mere mortals. They confidently state that the Tour will be available on July 20th, just over a week after the purported release date on Big Red. This hasn't yet been confirmed by Sprint, but we're sure they want this baby out sooner rather than later, so quasi-mark your calendars, quasi-set your alarms, and get your $199.99 ready.

stay tuned i think the touch pro 2 is coming sooner that expected and i believer sprint is getting the htc Hero but not a 100% percent sure.
Worst.Photoshop.Ever.
.
umm... i dont know if you know this but nascar is one of the most watched sports in the states, if not the number 1 i would have to say the 2nd. just because you dont watch it , doesnt mean someone else doesnt.
I love my BB pearl, you just can't beat the size. But the tour is quite tempting. Does anyone know the processor that is in the Tour?
Will this work on sprint's everything messaging family plan? Because I know they currently have issues with blackberries on that plan...
Yes it will. Im on a Everything Data Family plan 2 lines and there shouldnt be a problem.
I had a Friend get a Curve the other Day with the Everything Data plan as well...and shes been good.
It will work on the everything messaging plan, but you have to add on a $30 Blackberry package (atleast to get your MIR back). If you only have 2 lines you might as well just go up to the everything data family.
The tour's processor is 528 mhz so we got speed baby!!! july 12th cant get here soon enough!!
Why is it that when I read about the IPhone I don't see any BB fans posting hatred. But coming to a BB thread, there is so many IPhone fanboys standing up for their phone as if they just got insulted.

Wow, another Blackberry.... and it looks just like the others!
Are you people trying to justify you purchase?
P.S. Starbucks burns their coffee!
I'm not an iPhone user, I use WM.
In hindsight my initial post should have been more elaborative in my gripe with BB, mainly the lack of form factors available. Yes they've probably stuck with the 'wide candybar' as its a form factor thats worked well for them, but other than the Pearl Flip and the Storm they haven't ventured much.
You'd have thought they'd have released at east one BB with sliding keyboard by now? I remember in the run up to the Storm release seeing a concept for a BB with large screen and horizontally sliding keyboard (similar to the HTC Touch Pro) and was pleased to see that BB might be widening their form factor choices. Unfortunately it reamained a concept, which is a shame as I've considered making the switch to BB, but I'm not a fan of the 'wide candybar'.
Oh okay. Sorry about that Mike. Didn't mean to call you an IPhone user, I was just used to seeing only IPhone users talking garbage.
I understand what you mean. The form factor never really affected me though, but don't get me wrong I love the form of the Pre. Especially on how they have the touch screen but still have the common sense to keep the keyboard. It's a phone you can have fun with but get things done. I had IPhone 3G and borrowed my sister's Storm, wow both of those phones were stupid. Seriously WTH!!
The reason why I love BB is b/c simplicity, and yes PIN. lol
Yup, I was right I checked all the past IPhone threads and there is not BB fan posting hatred towards their phone. hmmm funny
That's because anyone who has a BB doesn't give a shit about the iPhone. They're the type of people who cant be bothered with remembering keyboard shortcuts, replacing their own battery or dragging and dropping music, lol.
Yeah, that irritated me about the IPhone when it had NO BATTERY CHANGING. After realizing also that the IPhone could not cut n paste I sold it ASAP and got me a Bold.
Maybe I would of kept the IPhone if OS3.0 came out sooner, maybe. I love the apps so I'm thinking of getting the ITouch and leave a phone's job to a real company.
I'm with the other touch pro2 disciples. Sprint has really dragged their feet on official date(s) for this phone, and I suspect the Pre and Tour are to blame for the hush-hush. Don't want to undercut those "high market" new entries. But the touch pro2 is a techie/tweaker lover's dream up until now. And with Winmo 6.5, I don't see iphone, webOS, or BB operating systems, let alone the phones they are associated with. Even if head-to-head browser speed tests show Sprint's Touch Pro2 (Winmo 6.5) five seconds slower than any of the above, I could welcome that given the Flash support, flexibility, and customization thats sure to offset any "lag". Oh wait... HTC's "Push Internet" should remedy that. This is a good year for all mobile users... the "consumer/non-techies" got their iphone.. the "business/non-techies" will have their Blackberry Tour... "the consumer/techies" now have the Pre...now give us "business/techies" our Touch Pro2!
Ahhh, this is great news. I currently have the Centro. This is coming around as soon as my contract is up, and I get the sweet discount on the device.
You are all so knowledgeable around here- so i had a BB many yrs ago for work- now past two years was on a Palm Treo- (its nice dont laugh!)- on Sprint. Have to say, i love Sprint. no issues, great coverage.
So- i am so in love with the Bold- - and my contract is up - i'm torn about just going to at&t for the bold vs doing Tour with sprint. will the actual monthly stuff - contracts, BB-only stuff-- be better on sprint vs. att??
And what do you all think of the Bold physically vs the Tour?
thanks anyone who cares to answer this novel
Sprint is the most horrible company on the planet. I bought 2 phone from them and upgraded my contract for 2 yrs. i had 30 days if i was not satisfied to return the phones and i would go back to my monthly contract. Needless to say my BB was shutting off during conversation along with other problems. Tried working it out with sprint with no result. I sent their phone back and ended up with a bill about a thousand bucks. They charged me for early termination as well as the full price for two phones. i had the tracking that shows Sprint warehouse signed for the returned phones, i was under the 30 days trial period. I have called Sprint too many times to count to resolve this issue with no success. I had to go to my state atty office to resolve the situation. sprint repaid me the money for the phones nad credit me back for early termination. A month later i started getting bills for the phones again. I tried again to resolve this with sprint but they treated me with disgust. Now they have sent my account to collection. Now my credit will be damaged for phones that sprint has already sold to someone else i am sure. I have and will encourage potential customer to think long and hard before they give their buisness to sprint. You may end up with alot more than you bargain for. I must admit they have very good packages but if you anything ever goes wrong you can never resolve it in your favor
I am now with AT&T and pay alot more but i am happier being a valued customer. Sprint idea of customer service is if you are already a customer then you are screwed. If you try to leave we will make you pay and pay no matter your reason for leaving.
I just returned my Pre today. I didn't even know the Tour is coming to Sprint, I just thought VZW. I'm really excited as I want a Blackberry now and the options in NYC are so F'd up. Get VZW and pay $160 / mo for crap phones, ATT for the worst service ever or Sprint (which has been pretty fair to me over the years) but no good BB's at this point.
BTW, the Pre is a nice phone, but after years of having my Palm 700P I still need my keys and no matter what the iPhone geeks say, I still don't feel that's a "professional" grade phone for real work. Looking forward to Tour :) Can't wait!
