Xbox Live and Zune Marketplace both acting flaky right now
We don't know exactly what's going on, but both Xbox Live and Zune Marketplace are apparently acting up right now -- we've gotten reports that the entire Zune user database is more or less MIA, while Xbox Live seems unable to process purchases reliably. If we had to guess, we'd say that Microsoft's free Thriller video giveaway is causing some pretty massive server strain, but that's just a shot in the dark. Keep us posted on how you're doing, and we'll let you know if we hear anything official.

Dead pedophile.
-guess who's listening to "threatened" right now?
-now guess who's about to get it for being an ignorant troll?
some wahed up corpse looking hasbin the media been covering non stop like he's the goddamn pope.
You mean Barack Obama?
To my generation, he was much more than the pope ever would be. And as for pedophile... what makes you think the pope's any better?
Oh sorry, thats my Michael Jackson. Forgot I left him here.
who is that in the picture?
Lady gaga from her video for Love Game
Why it's Jared Marino of course
who needs porn when there are music videos...
I JUST DOWNLOADED ALL OF THRILLER RIGHT NOW, NO PROBLEMS HERE.
CAPS LOCK IN HONOR OF BILLY MAYS (1958-2009)
I think Billy Mays would be happier if we just typed normally and maybe added RIP Billy Mays at the end of our posts.
RIP Billy Mays
So, you honor somebody by being obnoxious to the rest of the world? Great...
BILLY MAYS WAS KNOWN FOR YELLING AND EVERYONE KNOWS CAPS LOCK IS THE WRITTEN VERSION OF YELLING, WE WILL MISS YOU BILLY!!!
I am going straight to hell.

that son of a bitch
Leave it to microsoft to crash
like no other company's ever had servers crash before...
Leave it to Erik to troll
Erik @ Jun 28th 2009 1:32PM
Yeah buy either way you have to use an underpowered Winmo device.. and no one does that anymore thank god.
Erik @ Jun 28th 2009 1:33PM
No, Apple corners the market with developers.
And excuse me but no one is going to develop for winmo when hardly anyone uses it.
Leave it to Apple to even give out free thriller videos to honor a pop icon... wait, that was Microsoft.
@patriotsn1
Nice work,
you put all of my great points into one post.
Its like having my own blog :)
You SHOULD start your own blog... and leave this one. None of your posts have any substance and are just blind hatred towards the largest most significant software company in the world, so unless people are gluttons for mental punishment, no one will read it. I hope "Erik" is Steve Job's secret identity, otherwise you lead a sad pointless life.
LMAO
Dumb fanboy
Erik, just a few minutes ago you had the M from GMail as your image. Leave it to Google, the king of outages, mail loss, marking the entire internet as having a virus, etc.
BTW, your myspace page is the epitome of duchebaggery. You may wish to take the link off your Engadget profile, since we now know your full name.
HAHAHA I just looked at his myspace page... Go ahead buddy, make fun of MS, you're doing them a favor.
Dumb fanboys must always attack the person,
Obvious troll is obvious :D
Hi, yes I would like a piece of extra crispy, a side of mashed potatoes, a biscuit, and um, uhhh, I guess I will have a diet Pepsi with that. Oh, and can you put the gravy on the side? And that will be to go.
Obvious troll is obvious? You're the one who posted twice in a row with very stock-iTroll posts...
DNFTT
@Erik
Think before you type.. being obnoxious and making personal attacks even though you're the one at fault just pisses everyone off.. both Apple and Windows fanboys
@shrik just because Gizmodo banned you doesn't mean you can come here
"Tee-hee-hee!" *Crotch-grab*
Just as an important aside, because their system is down, those of you who have purchased Zune marketplace music (not Zune Pass mind you ... this is music you've purchased and downloaded) are not allowed to listen to it today:
http://foldingrain.com/joeh/images/DRMSucksRevisited.png
Pretty insane DRM there from the Zune folks ... it's this and the we-lost-a-deal-with-publisher-X-so-YOU-can't-listen-to-their-music-which-you-bought that made me drop ALL DRM media like a hot potato.
(Again ... can't stress it enough ... not talking about Zune Pass here. If Microsoft loses a deal with a publisher, that publisher's music goes bye-bye for you if you bought it and there are NO refunds: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=7271611&l=feefec372d&id=623900290 )
You mean I am not allowed to listen to the music I'm listening to now?
You have zero clue what you are talking about. You don't lose the music, JUST LIKE WE HAVEN'T LOST THE ABILITY TO LISTEN TO IT NOW. I am listening to it both on my zune and on the marketplace. Go try and take your Apple loving arse elsewhere, little boy.
Guys, Joe is right. I thought my music wasn't playing cause I had downloaded it on my other account, so I signed in on the other account, but I got the same error message that he's got posted at his first link. I'm not giving credit to the rest of his post, I'm just saying that the music I bought through the marketplace won't play for me either.
So, serious question here. Should I wait to download the new Fallout 3 expansion? I was pretty excited about downloading it once I finished some work, but if it's acting up I don't want to attempt to purchase it.
Great- on the weekend of one of the most influential performers of all time dying we can't even log in to listen to his music.
If you think Michael Jackson is one of the most influential performers, you shouldn't be allowed to listen to music at all.
really Wormbolt? really? i was never a huge fan of the guy but im not so ignorant as to say he wasn't an influential performer. if he wasn't who is/was? HE DID THE FREAKING MOON WALK!
