Verizon's BlackBerry Tour coming July 12th, pre-order page now live
Looks like Verizon's got a winner here. That leaked promotional graphic was right on the money, as the carrier's just replaced its BlackBerry Tour teaser with a pre-order page and, lo and behold, it's indeed coming July 12th for a penny under $200. We're still waiting to see if Sprint's whispered July 20th date pans out, but regardless, if you want a Tour before anyone else, looks like VZW's the way to go.

Update: She's official. The press release says so.

What can you see with this tiny screen beside a few lines of text?
before you bitch about a device, how about you use any blackberry with the same size screen....its more then generoud, my 8830 has been my workhorse for 2.5 years with a slightly smaller screen. The resolution makes up for it and its not a strain on the eyes at all
all I know is the Storm 2 better have badass software updates or nobody will care about RIM in 2 years.
I love all these idiots who obviously are nothing more than jobless teenagers. Black Berries are business phones they work much better for this than any Pre or shitty iPhone which is nothing more than a glorified MP3 player toy with a phone on a shitty network.
Sales Manager: The data is in, Mr. Verizon CEO, and the people just want Blackberrys. More and more blackberrys.
CEO: Really? But these iPhones seem to get so much press... not to mention this Android thing.
Sales Manager: No way, boss. These are all software solutions and closed systems. They won't allow us to carve them up with our logos and media solutions. How are we supposed to compete if we can't advertise on the phone to the person who already owns and is using it?
CEO: Umm... service?
Sales Manager: (aside to aid) i told you, the old man's losing it...
i want to get a nice phone so bad Verizon so hurry up and come out with the Pre or something like it ASAP!
does verizon offer any BB with wifi? also, what makes the Tour a more exciting phone than any of the other new BBs coming out?
There is not yet a Blackberry with wi-fi on Verizon, as far as I can tell. And the Tour does NOT have wi-fi either. However, a month ago there were several articles that pointed to a to-be-announced phone code-named "Atlas" that was supposed to launch with wi-fi at the same time as the Tour.
I haven't heard anything about it since, though. Anyone else?
I just spoke with Verizon and they said this is only for new customers. Existing customers cannot preorder to upgrade to this phone.
I'm very tempted to just ditch verizon after this
I just spoke to Verizon and was able to upgrade my storm to a pre-ordered Tour. I wonder why they didnt let you....
Just ordered one of these. I have an iPhone 3GS - love the phone, hate AT&T. Lousy service inside the building where I work - I spend most of the day with "No Service" indicated on the phone (any AT&T phone, not just the iPhone), yet my VZW-carrying coworkers get 5 bars all day long. So looks like I'll be giving VZW and the Tour a 30 day trial. Just couldn't justify buying a 83xx Curve given how old they currently are.
No mention of wi-fi at all, anywhere on this. Is this yet another wi-fi-less smart phone from Verizon?
@Rebekah...
Do you know what they did or how you managed that? I was on the phone for half hour trying to get mine preordered but they had no idea how since I was already a customer.
