iBUYPOWER launches Core i7-packin' Paladin XLC desktops
Nearly a month to the day after iBUYPOWER launched its gamer-centric M865TU gaming laptop, the outfit has now given the desktop gamers in attendance something to consider. The liquid cooled Paladin XLC series is comprised of three well appointed models, the XLC V1, XLC V2 and XLC V3. All three of 'em are stored in the monstrous Coolermaster HAF 922 (the V3 gets a HAF 932), while even the lowest end model gets a Core i7-920 processor. Other specs include up to 12GB of DDR3 RAM, as many as three NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 GPUs, upwards of 1TB of HDD space, optional Blu-ray support and Windows Vista Home Premium. The trifecta can be ordered now for $1,399, $2,159 or $4,299 in order of mention.

Theres no room once you put 3 285's. They take up all the PCI-E slots available.
If you got 3x GTX285, you don't need a PhysX card
am I the only one who found the stats amazing, and then a major let down when Vista HP was mentioned?
A computer is only as good as its worst part. In this case, the OS. Dont know what would be a good replacement however.
Stop whining and put the OS you want on the machine. Its a pc, you can do it!
So for about a nanosecond, you get that Boss(tm), shiny, neuk-u-lur, badass facade, right up until you need to actually plug something in! Why on Earth are all the ports at the top, guaran-goldang-teeeing an unsightly spaghetti mess of cable-age?
How much resilience does it have?
LOOKS GREAT. nice case.
But does it run...
doom?
iBuypower has the most configurable and best priced custom built PC's on the market. Spent countless hours scouring the web for better deals and have never found one. Bought 3 PC's from them over the years, have a friend that's also on his third. Their prices are often very close to what you'd pay buying seperate from newegg.com, unless you REALLY took your time and scoured for sales on every part. Especially since you can order sans-operating system.
BUT... man it's a gamble buying from them. Haven't had a single build that was 100% perfect. Always SOMETHING wrong; nothing big.. but fans not hooked up, devices not plugged in correctly, etc. Annoying, but no deal breakers. For me saving the time and effort of doing the build myself is worth it; if anything I'll configure with minimum RAM and the cheapest vid-card and then find those on sale elsewhere to save a bit of coin.. I'd rather pop in some RAM and a vid card than do a from-scratch build. But it's just personal preference.
alright.. who makes that LCD screen on the front. someone's gotta know.. cuz.. iBuypower has got to source it from somewhere.

I wish prices in the UK were this awesome. I think 3xs are the closest bet. But I do envy you yanks and your easily accessible stuff from the net.
I wanted a Adult size Baby-Gro (onesie)... but they only deliver to America :(
