If you're still waiting for
NU's DVD/HDD docking station to make its appearance at your local purveyor of flimsy-feeling netbook accessories, perhaps you'd instead prefer to wait for this new, less wedge-shaped one from Marshal. Called the DVD Power Up Dock, it sports a DVD drive with the requisite plethora of reading and writing options plus a 2.5-inch SATA HDD and, finally, a USB hub with the least possible number of ports: two. It's listed as being compatible with Windows and naturally there's no mention of price or availability, but that would ruin the surprise.
瘾科技怎么注册啊?实在没搞懂耶~
yup. i totally agree :)
I see what you did there.
no, you don't
:-P
Is this a trustable device?
sometimes Chinese products are not working at all!
I wouldn't let it date my sister, if that's what you mean.
What...like probably all the electrical products you own?
It's probably made in China.
But the box texts are in Japanese (+Kanji)
What's up dock?
Reminds me of the Cyanide and Happiness comic yesterday
http://www.explosm.net/comics/1720/
That was the first thing i thought of too :)
Well DUH.
The other two USB ports are running the HD and the DVD!
You don't think they actually did anything more than cram a regular 4-port hub in there, did you?
Silly.
Now make it available barebones and I'm SO in. -I have extra drives I can populate this with myself.
You know what would make it even better?
1. Put an 8GB flash disk into it that supports readyboost or that I could use as a linux partition.
2. Make it barebones (other than the cheap flash) space.
3. Have a model with an add-on battery (like a long stick one).
But for right now, this is pretty good. Just lemme know whose DVD drive is in there....
Be wary of the next engadget gift bag give-away.
my room is full with dozen of those gadgets... the majority of them aren't even working...
thanks Chinese markets!
All netbooks should have a purpose built dock like this (I assume this connects via USB) with video out to a monitor.
This is an another Chinese crap by some local manufacturer, durability is a big question.
Another Jalan Imbi special.
I miss Lowyat :(
I get it. Because Engadget is owned by AOL, who is owned by Time Warner, who owns the rights to Bugs Bunny. I see what you did there.
Man, and here I was hoping for a laserdisc dock for laptops. Proportionally that's gotta be close to what it would look like.
OK If you have a netbook and you want one of these you purchased the wrong machine in the first place.
This device totally ruins the whole point of a NetBook.
Looks like the #4 Family Special...Does it come with an egg roll and chopstix?
You made me laugh engadget. It was a guilty laugh, but a laugh none the less. Bravo!
