We know you've got questions, and if you're brave enough to ask the world for answers, here's the outlet to do so. This week's
Ask Engadget question is coming to us from Sang-Jung, who is desperately in search of the perfect cordless critter to take some of the strain away from that trackpad.
"I'm heading to university next year, and I've purchased a MacBook. I'm also taking my four year old desktop, just in case I'm left with no computers when the MacBook is being repaired or whatnot. With only two USB ports on a MacBook, I want a Bluetooth mouse. Budget is about $100, and of course, it needs OS X support. Thanks for the help!"
Alright folks, it's time to get serious. Do you own a
Bluetooth mouse that you can recommend? Recommend against? Be sure to spill your thoughts in comments below, and feel free to send in a question of your own to
ask at engadget dawt com.
I recommend the Logitech V470 which is fairly priced at $37.95 from Amazon and other online vendors. The setup/pairing was simple, the controls excellent and battery life solid.
definitely the MOGO. seriously a no brainer. i have the wireless presenter with the integrated powerpoint controls and laser pointer.
ive had wireless mice before but never wound up using them cuz who wants to carry around a stupid dongle and mouse with them all the time.
with mogo storing and charging INSIDE the laptop in the express card slot that noone uses anyway (for the most part), this is finally a mouse i use with my laptop, no dongle, no changing batteries = WIN
sure its small and not super ergonomic, but IMHO the convenience wayyy outweighs the weightyness issues.
got it for cheap on buy.com also (30USD?)

the best bluetooth mouse period. small but not too small. fits large hand well. Accurate, and plugs in to USB to charge. No worry about batteries...
I have owned a wireless mighty mouse for about 2 1/2 years now, and the scrolling ball stopped working after six months. I still have the mouse because I recently got a Macbook Pro and I wasn't too disappointed about the scrolling ball anyways. However, I'm also looking for a bluetooth mouse that I can use with my new laptop at home. I don't mind the touch pad it comes with, but some features, such as zooming, are not very precise. I would recomment not getting the mighty mouse for laptop use, simply because it's fairly large and the scrolling ball might stop orking like mine did. I am looking at the new Logitech mouse, I think it is the m555b.
Was this question asked to confirm that there are no good Bluetooth mice out there. I have tried a few and they have all disappointed me... not because they were Bluetooth (I can tolerate the lag when I just working on dull work related items and surfing the internet.)
They disappoint me because they were not fully featured mice and ergonomic like the MX Revolution. I wish that Logitech would come out with a Bluetooth version and possible a dual-signal version (Bluetooth when I travel and RF when I am at my desk since the RF transmitter/receiver is embarassingly long.) Logitech makes the best mice that I have seen the MX Revolution is by far the best. Microsoft does a pretty good job but I am always looking for more and Microsoft is almost always one step away from being the best.
But again - all the Bluetooth mice suck.
I agree! I LOVED the Kensington Turbo Mouse Pro-- the ultimate trackball... wish Kensignton wd revive it with Bluetooth!
Logitech V270 - battery lasts a long time - and I mean months and it just works and works....
I think there is a newer version - the V470. I have not tried that version but if its anything like its predecessor...
