Samsung's SCH-W760 with infrared video conferencing is ready for your parole hearing
We get it. Sometimes, not often, but sometimes when you're staring into the sad abyss of an empty Tennessee fifth, the idea of initiating an impromptu video conference in total darkness seems mighty compelling. That's where Samsung's SCH-W760 with 7.2Mbps HSDPA and front-facing infrared camera can help. It's available now in Korea and could be the difference between making a solo bed-spin performance or 3- to 6-months served at county for violating your restraining order. The choice is yours for KRW580,000 or about 445 of the green stuff.

that thing is ugly
LMM @ Jul 2nd 2009 3:35AM
Not as ugly as YOUR FACE.
All out-dated, non-meant insults aside, yeah it's definitely not a looker...
ratchetnclank @ Jul 2nd 2009 3:42AM
I thinks she's quite cute.
dmitr77 @ Jul 2nd 2009 3:56AM
actually she isn't
Nikesh @ Jul 2nd 2009 3:58AM
Man...these guys need to work on their IR camera. The person facing the cellphone comes out looking like an owl. Maybe that's a feature? Owl-vision? Asians always get the cool tech first.

Wait, there's something wrong here, her head is cocked to the side but on the display she is staring straight ahead. Something's amiss with this owl-vision technology.
iRoc @ Jul 2nd 2009 3:42AM
Man am I glad that Pat O'Brien didn't have one of these during one of his doped up message leaving days.

The one on the right looks like an iPhone rip-off. Actually, so does the left.
No wait. The one in the middle of them both! It's an iPhone clone I tell you!
G @ Jul 2nd 2009 3:53AM
can it see through clothes? :P
The Mad Mule @ Jul 2nd 2009 4:10AM

All Camera phones act as an IR camera. Go ahead try it. I guess it is just to expensive to put an IR filter on most devices.
Skyper @ Jul 2nd 2009 9:41AM
What's w/ Sammy making phones with projector and IR camera and stuff? What a show off! What's next? X-ray vision camera with 3D display? You know they will make one just because they can!
JohnTech @ Jul 3rd 2009 12:12AM
I wonder when the US carriers are going to jump a bored and make video conference a standard feature in cellphones?
