iriver E200 lands in the wild, might not have been worth the wait

Sure, we know that whenever we hear the word "aluminum" we're supposed to go all weak in the knees, but iriver hasn't really astounded us with this materials-tweaked rehash of the E100. Still, the OLED screen on the upcoming E200 has been bumped to 2.8-inches, so that's kind of nice, and while the capacitive touch buttons aren't a big win over the original rocker, at least the chassis seems thinner now. Check out the read link for some purported press shots that manage to be quite a bit more flattering.

I love iriver... they always made great players, they were always introducing new features..... but this makes me sad. I've still got my original clix that I use as my everyday player, it's getting kind of old and dated and I want to replace it but Iriver just have not released anything I'd consider a worthy replacement.
They always used to have their bigger players and their more petite range, but those days seem to be over since the LPlayer and the only other small players are pathetic.
I'm hijacking this topic.... what player can someone recommend that is small, has a reasonable feature set and would be a worthy replacement for my clix? Please be kind, the clix was like my first born when I originally got it... doesn't seem like 3 years ago.

i think you should try cowon players........i heard they are better than iriver in sound........i have the clix 2! i got it not so long ago........so i am gonna have it for a while but if iriver doesnt come up with something good soon my next player wud be from cowon either the S9 or D2+

Nice and might be better than a Nano, but hardly comparable to an iPod Touch. I'm still running a 30 GB Video but I really want a 64 GB iPod Touch with a 600 GHz processor. This iRiver seems to be basic music player and that's it. They probably won't sell many in the U.S.

Because of touch screen tech Humans of the future will not have finger prints anymore. The constant strain on Human Hands and wingers will render them with huge muscles and extra joints to accommodate the un-natural side to side swiping movement and the semicircular movements being employed.


Nice form factor but the interface could use a change/charge. Screen is to small for this day and age, for me anyway

Wow I’m so confused Iriver.
Ok let’s see. They had the E100 which came in 2gb, 4gb and 8gb with a MicroSD card slot. Earlier this year they came out with the predecessor E150 which comes in 2gb, 4gb and 8gb with MicroSD card slot. Now they have the E200 which comes in 4gb and 8gb I just don’t get it. Where is the 16gb version? Iriver it’s time to catch up with everyone else in capacity 16gb and 32gb.
