Ned Kelly thumb drive for the bushranger in your life
Bushrangers were Australia's answer to English highwaymen and Ned Kelly was perhaps the most celebrated of them all. Known for his homemade armor and helmet -- here represented by the USB plug -- Kelly has now been truly immortalised by the art of memory stick modding. Fair enough, woodworking isn't a terribly precise art and we could just as easily claim this to be a Hristo Botev (who?) USB drive, but we have to commend the considerable effort required to put this baby together. On the other hand, there are snazzier alternatives out there, which look great even without you explaining the mythology behind their design.

Comments like yours remind me of sites like Failblog. Some really funny image and theres 300 comments, you would think they would be smart, witty and humourous but youd be wrong. You have to get past the "firsts" the "seconds" the whole "second, lecond, decond" rhyming then youll have a random post someone copied from Wikipedia.
Its depressing because theres no point even bother reading or contributing to the comments because it would drown in a sea of low IQ and meaningless jibberish.
i hope Engadget doesnt turn into that *gets off soapbox*

I would definitely have cut the entire slot out, not left the two eye holes, it is supposed to be Ned Kelly right?

Hristo Botev is a Bulgarian revolutionary in the fight against Turkish oppression back in the 1800's. He is considered a national hero here.
Thank you for mentioning a truly great man, Engadget.

I would rather speculate this to be part of the 'special event' announcements that El Jobso is set to make in August.

Ned Kelly was a braggart, a thief and a remorseless murderer, who attempted to justify his actions by pretending that he was fighting for the rights of Irish Catholics (who were at the time being repressed by the English colonial authorities in Australia) and other groups.
In reality, he could care less about those people, he just wanted notoriety and fame, and that required a "cause" that would condone his violent acts and allow him to become a celebrity.
I despise the reverence and adoration that modern-day Australians heap upon Ned Kelly - why should we be celebrating this killer when there were many other people who genuinely tried to help the repressed groups AND managed to do so without murdering people?
OT as someone else said, that USB plug does not do a very good job of replicating Kelly's helmet, which features a horizontal eye slit (and not two eye holes).
