if this Google OS gets big enough people will assume its something mean. Wal-Mart, McDonald's, Microsoft. people hate them regardless of the fact that they give the people what they need at a price they want. but hating big corporations makes you an awesome nonconformist hipster!
as much as i'd like it to, something tells me this won't really take off that well. what are the advantages over any old Linux distro?
@UnixSystemsEngineer: Yes, as Google and Apple have always had the best business practices and have never released any software or service without issues.
you "for one" are looking for more OS choices? when did i say i wasn't looking forward to this? oh wait i think i said i WAS. look at that. why is it so fun for you to hate Microsoft?
It's not "fun" to hate Microsoft, but you know what they say: "Ignorance is bliss."
Educating people to what Microsoft has done in the past (so they are aware and skeptical) is not fun. If you blindly accept MS and their products without looking for an "exit strategy" you are looking for an anal raping of epic proportions. It wouldn't be such a big deal for a normal company, but a normal company doesn't own 95% of the computer industry.
Actually, a normal company does own 95% of the computer industry. It's happened before (IBM), it may happen again. Monopolies don't always happen through underhanded tactics (though that is the norm, sad to say). Google has been called a "natural monopoly" many times, a company that does enough things right that people normally flock to it.
And there's no doubt that MS has had, and still does, some issues. But to assume it as "t3h evil faceless company" is pointless.

Long live Google...( assuming they don't devolve into something mean )

kojo,
Wrong. People hate Microsoft for its deplorable business tactics and subpar software.
I for one am looking forward to more OS choice.
