Samsung's folding keyboard brings a little starfighter to the cellphone

Looks like Samsung's elves have been busy thinking up new ways to cram a QWERTY onto all those touchscreen phones they've been selling lately: check out this patent application for a side-mounted flip-down keyboard. We're not sure if this would be comfortable, usable, or even stable, but we do know that we support any design decision that makes our phones look more like super-awesome space planes from the future. I would view one handed operation of a cell phone essential, so you can use it while doing other things with your free hand..

In that case, I wouldn't want a phone where I HAVE to use both hands OR make it incredibly awkward to type with one hand. Therefore, thumbs down for this phone.

PKE meter is from the original movie. Psycho Kinetic Energy.
Although in the new game, it's an EKG meter. Not sure what it stands for.

Hey phone devs, here's a novel idea: how about making speech to text better rather than coming up with ridiculous keyboard gimmicks? I don't think the whole "15 year old student trying not to get noticed texting in class" doesn't make up 90% of your userbase.
