Translucent XCM Eye Candy case encourages licking of DSi
Oh sure, the DSi was the definite hotness when it sprung onto the scene earlier this year, but if you're growing somewhat bored of the same old camera + touchscreen action, why not spruce things up with an all new exterior? The case you're looking at above does require the disassembly of your console, and thus, you can kiss your remaining warranty goodbye. Frankly, we view the sacrifice as thoroughly worth it, as XCM's Eye Candy shell is practically guaranteed to get more eyes, fingers and tongues on your machine. And really, who wouldn't want that?

OMG! Looks so sweet! I want one!
What about the regular DS?
Eww.. that's ugly IMHO.
That's what she said..
On the site there is also a blue and red version that might be more your cup tea...
Hmmm tasty.
I bet it tastes like an apple jolly rancher... mmm or Apple Pucker.
"Oh yes lick it, LICK IT DAMN YOU."
that goes so well with you're avatar :)
Didn't this stuff go the way of the dinosaur with the end of the original xbox? Seriously this is pretty tacky.
It reminds me of that phone I had in '95.
It was awesome then, it's awesome now.
This is making me cringe pretty badly.
Ugly beyond comprehension!
Aww yeah, reminds me of my old game boy pocket.
crap...your not you're
Very Gameboy Colour.
More fingers and tongues on my machine is always welcome. Now, I just need to get a DSi....
My Gameboy pocket was just like this clear lime green.
You can pick these up for only $22.95 at Consolesource.com - http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/catalog/Case-Modification-orderby0-p-1-c-323.html
I'll be honest, if I could get this for my DS Lite, I'd be all over it. I know I'm old school, but clear plastic to expose the inter works of technology has always, and will always, be cool to me.
DealExtreme sell the DS-lite cases, lots of different colors, etc... (and have for a long time, not sure why this article is news)
I've got this one on order:

It looks like it's internally illuminated in that shot in the form of LEDs, but after reading the site it would appear that's not the case. Which is a shame as it really looks the part in that shot.
Although you could quite easily add a few LEDs I suppose, your DSi will be in tatters for a while anyway. Just a bit deceptive.
I was such a nintendo fanboy when I was a kid. I had two of the old school grey gameboys that my brother and I got the first christmas they came out. He wasnt interested in it so he gave his to me. I also had close to 35 gameboy games, the 4 player connector and a bunch of cords to hook it up. I had fhree copies of tetris to make sure that everybody could play it together if there were a bunch of us. Getting to the point here... When those gameboy colors came out even though I had two of them i HAD TO HAVE that clear gameboy. That was so freaking awesome. I was so happy when I opened up that christmas gift. My love for nintendo wouldnt decline until I got a graphics card for my computer. A Voodoo 2 3000 so i could play the hell out of some quake 2. Oh those were the good ol days.
reminds me of the late 90s when every electronic was made with translucent plastic... then people realized that with no moving parts looking at a circuit board just wasn't that cool.
I had a Tamagotchi that looked just like that.. then it died
lol.... me too!!!!
Looks like toxic waste.
whoaaa. reminds me of some of the mid 90's toys. :O
...i want one :D
This is awesome but I'm too lazy to do it myself so if I see someone in public with one, I'm going to jack them for it on the spot.
I would prefer my sensitive electronic workhorse gaming devices to be shielded from the sun and cheap fluorescent and incandescent light, the poor precious things.
Also, at my last meeting with the components, we expressed strong desire to avoid hideous appearances and also expressed our reservations about the quality of third-party shells. We reached a unanimous agreement that Ma & Pa (ie. Nintendo) knows best.
Me too; nothing but the most expensive fluorescent and incandescent light for my gadgets!
