Video: MSI's skinny X600 laptop gets handled
It's been a little while since we'd heard anything about the super-slim MSI X600 -- part of the X-Slim lineup they've unleashed upon the world. NewGadget's gotten their hands on one, and it's looking pretty sexy, we have to admit. We already know that there will supposedly be two offerings for this 15.6-incher -- one with a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Solo processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard drive, and the other with a 1.2GHz Intel Celeron processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 320GB hard drive. We still don't have official word on US release or pricing, but the video's after the break.

any news on the flexi-keyboard?
Anyone own a laptop with a core2 solo in? and if so what are they like?
They're just like Core 2 Duo processors, but with only one core. So, if you primarily do one thing at a time, you'll notice very little difference. The other difference is in the clock-speed. A 1.4 GHz Core 2 Solo be slower than the the faster Core 2 Duos that you find in most full-size notebooks, but still a lot faster than a 1.6 GHz Atom processor.
You wouldn't want to encode video on one, but a Core 2 Solo is pretty fine for browsing the web.
should be a nice ultraportable for those on a budget
however i'll stick w/my air for now.
good to see more manufacturers trying the ultraportable but the trackpad on the air alone trumps all competitors thus far (imo)
Well, it's as thin as a MacBook Pro... so in no way comparable to your Air!
It's really not that slim - 1 inch.
MSI quality is known to be verybad. Sexy or not, i would never ever buy a MSi netbook...
I've got the x340 right now. The core2solo is nice, certainly better than the n270 of my old eee but still nothing amazing. Runs windows 7 without a hiccup. Love the true 16:9, i will be holding on to this one for a while.
This is MUCH better than the Macbook Air... the MBA costs an arm and a leg, whereas the X600 COMES with an arm!
You need to learn to read the fine print:
"*Arm not included"
It looks like a Macbook Air, the thinnest ultraportable in the world. Shame on you, MSi!
if I haven't seen so maybe dead MSI motherboards in my time i might be excited by this.
Anyone know where you can even buy these in north America?
These things are built like the toys found inside Kinder eggs. And a d-sub vga port in 2009?! Nice unmatching, cheap ass keyobard too. And how many indicator lights are needed right on the front? All ten of course.
Actually, if you take a closer look at the notebook during the side-by-side comparison, you'd see an hdmi-out port as well...
I'm turned on MSI, oh yes!
Seriously, when the fack is this thing coming out? If it's not here soon, I'm gonna snatch up an ASUS UX50v.
