Image of Zune HD's marketplace surfaces, leaves much to the imagination
Clamoring for even the tiniest morsel of Zune HD news? This might just do the trick. Xbox 360 Program Manager "Fitret" has posted on Twitter a pic of his new Tegra-infused portable that happens to show a glimpse of the marketplace section, specifically an artist sub-menu for The Hold Steady. Like we said it isn't much, but it is a mighty attractive design, and certainly a menu we haven't played with yet. Now how about a firm release date and price, eh Steve?

@why not the LS2LS7?
You know, it's best to keep your eyes on the road while you're driving instead of on your PMP. I mean of course, unless you're at a stop, but if you're actually 'driving' then please keep your eyes on the roads for the safety of others and yourself.
"Apple's two handed UIs are a big step back for those who want to access their media while commuting."
Yeah, because touchscreen PMPs are meant only for people who commute by cars. I guess the thought that other people might commute by walking or mass transit might have slipped your mind. In those cases, it's quite easy to use two hands on your PMP.
It's hilarious that the tools of Engadget feel compelled to rage not only against Paul Chapel, but also against anyone (obviously) MASQUERADING as Paul Chapel.
Paul Chapel is simply an effigy into which you can pour all your fiery Apple hate between moments of drunken Microsoft makeout sessions.
P.S. Zune - LOL! :P
So this is the Zune HD equivalent of the Marketplace grid accessible on current Zunes? Looks snazzy, although not as much content can be seen (at least in this one picture). Interesting.
bah, I want a mobile xbox with the old PSP form factor, thats all I want. They say currant Pre/Iphone 3gs cpu are the same power as the first Xbox... then bring on the games please.
"Leaves much to the imagination"
Not sure what Engadget is smoking (besides Apple pole) but I'd say it looks pretty sweet.
If you read the article, it seems to imply that they simply want to see more of the UI. Which is looking pretty sexy as it is right now.
I know the Zune Pass requires DRM that isn't available on Macs, but if the folks on the Zune Team found a way to sync wirelessly without the need of a desktop app (and thus without desktop DRM), then I'd scoop one of these things up in a heartbeat.
Also, are those little slightly-transparent track listings underneath the album title in that screenshot? Nice touch!
I didn't see that at first good eye
Eh, they would never allow you to sync in any way without the desktop software, the same way Apple won't let you sync your iPod without going through iTunes.
And for anyone who reads this and wants to argue, no I'm not talking about any 3rd-party hacked software.
Chapel is a fathead Mac user and the stuff he says is just stupid. He thinks he's so cool cause Apple does so well selling music players and stuff but we all know that this is a passing fad and screw Mac users, they aren't better than PCs. PCs are always going to be better cause lots of people use it and people like Microsoft a lot and you can never beat Microsoft cause they will put money into everything they do until they have a better product. They will buy out peeple who compete with them and just totally like dominate they every step of the way.
They will control the internet with Bing soon and the ZuneHD is going to make people just drop the iTouch without even looking at the new models so ha ha, you and all Chapel's friends can just suck it!
cant really wait until it comes out
I don't think this is the marketplace section. You can see the "In Collection" menu there. The marketplace section could look the same though...
It might separate albums that you have and albums you don't have. So it probably is the marketplace. it doesn't make sense to have "In Collection" anywhere else...
umm what's a "Zune" ??:-( is this also a phone like my iPhone ??
Do a Bing Search - http://www.bing.com/search?q=zune&form=QBLH&qs=n
You'd easily find out it's a portable media player.
Man this is looking sweet. I'd totally buy one in a heartbeat if Microsoft added support for Macs.
They do support Macs - Get Paralells or use Boot Camp, buy a copy of Windows, then download the Zune software and you're set.
@ Quikboy: You know full well he means a Mac's native OS: OS X. It's not supported.
@ jon
sad but true!
actually it's funny :)
I'm only getting it if it comes in 64 gigs. (crossing my fingers)
Kinda new to the website but i have noticed a disturbing trend of apple brown nosing from this site....not that i care but it is a serious turn of for people who want to get serious information about a product.......lots of negative headlines on MS front to....maybe these sites play to the fan base? i dont know but its a big turn off.......oh well there is always cnet i guess or even techradar.
um dude this is becoming the best looking device, imo, that MS has ever come out with!!!!!!
I can't wait to get this
I hope they pack premium headphones with it.That would be awesome .)
