Activision and Infinity Ward look to be going all out for its Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 "Prestige Edition," with not only the usual accoutrements like a special casing and an art book, but also what is described by Community Manager Robert "fourzerotwo" Bowling as a "fully functioning NVGs -- night vision goggles." No idea how well they work, but it's got alternating modes and MW2 branding. That's pretty awesome, but we gotta imagine it's gonna demand a pretty penny -- this is definitely more than that $80 "collector's edition" for $80 GameStop is currently listing. You won't be able to get your actual hands on the game until November at the earliest, so in the meantime, hit up the read link to get a glimpse of the "official" unboxing.
Update:Joystiq's reporting it's gonna cost $149.99 for the prestige bundle.
This is unnescessary. After the monster of a game CoD4 was, they don't have to do anything to get people to line up to buy it except announce it. This game doesn't need hype. This game is gonna go Platinum weeks prior to release.

The PC version is confirmed to have the collectors steal box edition, the 'hardenend edition' as it's now called. This new prestige edition is not confirmed for the PC and since no mention of the PC is given at all i'm going to say that it's probably just 360/PS3

The NVG's are the same as the cheap toy version that's been out on the market for a while now. They're less functional than the Gen 1 scopes that were used in Vietnam. I'll stick with my Gen 3 NVG and scope mounted on my M4.

Could you imagine a kid having a pair of these in use in there bedroom and their parent comes in and turns the light on, if that things isnt working perfectly then oops there goes there eye sight.

I'm gonna buy this, and then I'm gonna put my Halo 3 helmet on the sculpted head. And then I'm going to put my night vision goggles on my Halo 3 helmet. Then just for fun, I'm going to wrap my Soul Calibur IV tee around the helmet like a ninja. And if I can find some way to do it, I'm going to make the whole setup also hold my Gears of War 2 Lancer. It's all crap I'll never use after the first day... I gotta do something with it.
This will cost at least $200... there is a point which you need to think am I really getting what I am paying for? I mean some cheap NVG which will have about 30 minutes of novelty value then will be put away forever. This bundle is just too ridiculous for me.
