Black Wii packaging looks as good as its contents

We've already gotten quite a few glimpses of Nintendo's forthcoming black Wii but, with that August 1st launch date in Japan now fast approaching, things are now starting to get even more real. Real like packaging. Of course, while the box is nothing more than a black version of the existing Wii packaging, we have to agree with our pals at Joystiq and say that it only makes the system all that more intriguing. Unfortunately, there's still no word on a release 'round here, but we assume / hope that's only a matter of time considering the reception this thing has received.
I must say that I prefer the black (though I'm still sticking with PC gaming).
I personally think it would be five flavors of awesome if Nintendo brought back the gray, black and red color scheme. That doesn't sound as dumb as faux wood panel on an Atari Jaguar
Maybe because we are sick....so fracking sick of Apple being named as the damn inspiration for every fracking thing on the planet. See that watermelon over there? Its design was inspired by Apple. Maybe. Just maybe people would lay off if the iT@rd2 would stop giving Apple a virtual blow job across the net. Because if ANYONE says anything remotely critical of that company its all hands on deck to defend their practices but if MS, Google, et al does anything slightly wrong...BAM! There. Beat em to death with M$ EVIL! FRACK M$! M$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
When Apple's fanbase decides to take their zealots and start beating them for being d0uch3b@gs and the world calms down with this MS vs Apple crap. Then maybe people will stop overreacting. Oh and it wouldn't hurt if Engadget didn't report on things that aren't remotely gadget like.....Apple rumors should stay on TUAW their sister site.

Does the fact that it is now in Black make it run HD Games? Ummm no. pass, Don't give into the hype peeps.
The box is more high tech than what's in the box
Why not wait for the Wii-HD to come out so you can spend $300 on that instead?
Or just buy this one and be reminded everyday about how your wii golf club/bat/rocket launcher money could have been better spend on a PS3

Nintendo is really milking its Wii audience... It's like car manufacturers changing a couple things like LED taillights to get additional sales.
I wouldn't be surprised if this will be their last push before a big price drop, and then an announcement of a new system...
I like nintendo and all but I don't understand why people can put up with such lousy graphics, and playing got boring after the first couple hours, I had to constantly load a new game to keep interest levels up. It's a Gamecube with a new shell...and motion controllers....no wonder they made so much...its 2002 technology...

why spend money to re-skin something if there is nothing new inside?
Why is the base/stand grey? Kind of stupid to make everything else black but that.
