Mitsubishi TVs to come with free Vudu boxes as of July 16th
Getting a free DVD or Blu-ray player with an HDTV purchase is nothing new, but Mitsubishi's taking things to the next level: starting July 16th, authorized retailers will throw in a free Vudu box and $50 service credit with every Mitsu TV. Right, we know it's only a $150 box, but remember Vudu is really the only player out there offering 1080p HDX video rentals right now, and it also supports Pandora, Flickr, YouTube and local streaming, so bundling the box is a pretty easy way for Mitsubishi to jump into the connected TV market without having to reinvent the wheel. Well played, we'd say -- it's just too bad the last Mitsu TV we played with was less than impressive. LaserVue, anyone?

That's a pretty neat freebie. Now I can watch low-res YouTube on my high res TV. Oh, I kid. It's best for spotting flaws in my non-existent photography skills.

Mits is not my 1st choice for a set.

Hey! That is a nice Mitsu.
Nicest I've seen yet.

Mitsu may not be the best choice out there, but when you're in the market for a +50" HD set that won't send you to the poor-house, they're the only players in town. I had a custom built entertainment center in my 'man-cave' with a 60" Sony SXRD that just died on me after 3 years (not the light engine). Anything smaller than that as a replacement wasn't an option as it would look ridiculous in the huge opening I had built for the Sony. Got a Mitsu 65-737 and an extended warranty (bulbs included) for the next 5 years, out the door for $1799. Plus I got me a new Callaway Diablo Driver for free. Beats the $3000+ dollars I would have paid for a flat panel to fit in that opening. And for the record, the picture on the Mitsu is better than I ever remember the Sony having while it worked.

Fail, I just bought a Mitsubishi a few days ago.
Tough luck I suppose.

You have people who are trying to sell your Vudu boxes and you can't supply them, yet you can put this offer out there to give them away? Thats messed up. Is this your way of dropping the final supply of boxes before Vudu software is released on the LG, Samsung and other brands of TV's and Blu-Ray players?

That is their new LCD line. All of them have soundbars on them now that go up in quality when you go Diamond. IIRC they are removable also. Great stuff.

HDX is a proprietary name specific only to this device. As such, it tells us nothing.

Hey guys, since this offer is over, you can still get a great deal on a Vudu. I got one from this site. Check it out, I would definently say it is worth it.
