Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus selling well, and Wii Sports Resort ain't even out yet
For a device that took a solid year to go from "debuting at E3" to "shipping," we're pretty surprised to see that Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus held as much steam as it did. With overall video game sales dropping in June for the first time since 2000 (when looking at year-over-year figures, anyway), the Big N still had a few hundred thousand reasons to smile. Aside from the 361,700 Wii consoles and 766,500 DS units that shipped in June, the company also managed to sell 169,000 Wii MotionPlus dongles -- and that's not including the ones that were packaged with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, of which 272,400 units were sold. The real kicker, however, is that the accessory's real partner in crime (that'd be Wii Sports Resort) has yet to be released. It's good to be king, ain't it Mario?

And you're very welcome to your opinion. :)
you only mentioned the cream of the crop on that system. Then there are the constantly deluge of crapware games like Birthday Party Bash... Sorry I'll stick with my pc and my 360 thank you very much.
I'm lucky because my roommate is a girl which means she bought a Wii soon after release. I've only spent time playing Mario Galaxy. I sort of want to try out Wii Fit but that would involve walking upstairs and turning on her tv. No way I'm bringing it down to use on my tv.
Yeah i get ya man. that takes way too much effort and physical prowess to move 10 lbs of equipment down 15 steps.
@SEVENim -- You obviously don't have a girlfriend, dude. Seriously. You think the reason he won't bring the Wii Fit downstairs to hook up to his tv is NOT because it involves physical prowess, but because it means that his girlfriend won't be using the Wii Fit hula hoop game in a t-shirt, which means that he won't be able to watch.
That's far more "physical prowess" than you have wielding your one-handed "Sword of Damacles" from your bedroom in your mom's basement.
i actually think the vitality sensor could be used for some good. like say, horror games? a game tries to scare you depending on how fast your heart is racing, etc. but i also see the main reason for it, more fitness games a shovelware. but to me, just like the motion+, i think their will be some actual quality games that come out for it.
was supposed to be @ Cody -.-....
How are you supposed to pay a game while keeping that thing on your finger?
i'm not sure, all i know is they can always revise the way it looks like they did with the motion+. I was just throwing that idea out there, b/c that is one thing i thought of when they showed the vitality sensor.
You numbers might be a little off there Engadget. While it's true that there were Wii MotionPlus bundles of Tiger Woods, that game was also available as a SKU on it's own. So unless the numbers you were provided were that specific, you might have seen a number for all Tiger Wood's games sold.
The new Nintendo Wii accessory will not work on all games which are already on the market or have been still announced, it will work only on that called Wii Motion Plus games which are separately made for it, and have the new features upgrade installed in it.http://videogam-es.com/make-your-wii-a-complete/
