Caption contest: Google Checkout finally finds a home
Reader Milad sends in this picture of a Lebanese grocery store suffering from a little branding envy.
Nilay: "This is not what we expected by "'innovative windowing system.'"
Chris: "Oh, so this is what Orkut is."
Ross: "Interestingly, the produce section has a sale on blackberries."
Darren: "And you thought Google Groceries was a belated April Fool's prank."
Paul: "Our VeggieRank was suspiciously low."
Thomas H.: "I'm Feeling Lucky doesn't work so well with produce."
Josh F.: "No, really. It's pronounced 'Goo-Glay.' It's French."
Richard: "Unfortunately, AisleView is not available in the scones, tea and treacle section."
Ross R.: "Our carrots put the beta in their Beta-carotene."
Thomas R.: "Do you sell Bing?"

FAKE BMW
Keratin?
nope... looks like a 1 Series to me.
It looks like a real BMW to me.
I believe it's a European model, not seen in the USA.
Looks similar to a Hyundai Sonata: http://imshopping.rediff.com/pixs/productsearch/product_images/four_wheeler/Hyundai-Sonata-Embera-MT%28Leather%29.jpg
But it certainly could be a real BMW. That logo does look fishy, though.
it's actually the new 3-series coupe.. anyways, i've seen this place, but i just can't remember where.. i think it used to be an internet cafe or computer hardware store gone broke..
Well it's not the 2009 or 2010 3-series coupe. My friend has a 2009 and it doesn't look like that 9http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/vehicle-pictures/2008/bmw/3-series/4878-048-rear-3-4-480.jpg), and this is the 2010 version:

Notice the reverse lights.
And it's definitely not the 1-series: http://www.autocarsblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009-bmw-1-series-4.jpg
it does look an awful lot like the Acura EL.

There is no offenheimer kink or w/e they call the crease in the trunk lid of all BMW's.

Matt could have meant Shiney vegetables are equal to anything but Google.
Similarly, in Kuwait there's a Google laundry shop!

Or India's Snow-cone stand:

Putting the ad in Radish.
So..... what exactly do you win for caption contests?
nothing but a million hypothetical dollars.
Like the BSA you can win up to a Million Dollars.
Internets
Google Earth has finally come to fruition.
Where in Lebanon is that? I wanna get one of my cousins to check it out.
Hello there Solid Snack!
The true source of Google's revenue stream...you didn't really think ads were raking in that much dough did you?
Introducing Google's latest venture after Google Chrome, meet Google Grown.
Can you really cut it out with these comments? They're really annoying.
In Lebanon, Google employee benefits have been extended to selling produce from your desk.
Next, Yahoo! will open a barber shop.
The new Google Android Marketplace...... Still no flash app. Epic Fail!
When I saw the picture, I immediately knew that it was in Lebanon !
The BMW, the poor pavement, etc.
Hahahaha it's so true... Also the buildings that lack walls (the one in the background). All that's missing is some military road blocks and political posters.
That fence as well... it would be cool to know where this is exactly. Haven't been back there in a while... it has its charms lol...
no its elgoog. you read from right to left in Lebanon. nothing wrong here.
Well aren't you creepy.
"I saw a lot of cobwebs when I first arrived, looks like some spidering has been going on."
"Badi lahsak manbat sha'er baidi"

"Sure. What would you like?"
"I'm feeling lucky."
:D:D:D
Why isn't it in Chrome?
Just wait until you get inside and see what they actually do with the vegetables.
You're supposed to hide your intention to be an attention whore on the internets.
Great...now Google is test marketing a brick-n-mortar for data mining your grocery shopping.
Purchase Kellogg's Fruit Loops...and later that evening your web browsing is constantly bombarded with Hanes, Speedo ads and discounts for Brokeback Mountain on DVD or Blu-Ray. *shakes my head*
(guy in red/white t-shirt) hey, can I get an invite for GoogleVoice?
"It's bigger on the inside."
