Special edition Mad Catz Street Fighter IV controllers set for limited engagement at Comic-Con
Heading to Comic-Con this year? If not, you'll be missing out on a limited edition Street Fighter IV-branded FightSticks and FightPads from Mad Catz, with button layouts designed to maximize your hadouken-throwing efficiency and with a design the Joystiq crew labels as inspired by Sagat (the character) -- a perfect complement to your Tournament Edition sticks. According to Capcom's official blog, only 500 of each have been made, divided evenly between PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The pad will cost you $49.99, the sticks $179.99, and the online auction resale value guaranteed to be even more.

COOL. Do you think that's cool, Ross Miller? HEY.

While the arcade stick looks great I don't know about the D-pad controller. I actually prefer the analog sticks over the d-pads, as I find them easier to input half-circle motions, etc. Looks cool though, and I like the button layout, but they should have kept the analog stick.

I agree, I prefer using the analog stick on my controllers. The arcade controller looks pretty nice, although the stick might be a little too close to the buttons.

Ill just be the first to say that's what the Xbox 360 controller should be... except with better grips at the bottom, and one moar analogue.

I dont buy controllers unless they are the actual microsoft xbox 360 controllers or the sony ps3 controllers. MAYBE logitech controllers, thats it.

Both finalists used the MadCatz TE edition sticks, so they can't be that bad.

Its the player that makes the stick, not the stick that makes the player.

Even MORE overpriced. No thanks.

I saw Mad Catz and instantly lost interest. Everything I've ever owned by them has stopped working correctly after a short time. I went through 3 of the same N64 controller in the matter of two weeks with normal use. They made the coolest PS2 controller ever - looks like an NES controller - worked fine to begin with, but a game or two later an it's not usable.
weirdo123098 @ Jul 21st 2009 12:09AM
I agree. Not only are they not as sturdy as the stock controllers they always seem bulkier. For people with big hands I suppose this would be a plus. But I have small hands and don't like it when Madcatz controllers look like something a XBox or Dreamcast would use.

"Hence your name"

How's about giving one of those bad boys away, Engadget? :D

Awh they're hella pretty. I was never that interested in ones with the characters face splashed across them, but these are right up my street!
