HTC Hero on sale tomorrow at Orange UK
We may have scored HTC's latest Android-infused device for a brief window of time, but if you're hoping to snag one for keeps, you'll need to jet over to the UK and sign away your cellular soul to Orange. Based on a brief but pointed tweet from a carrier representative, the HTC Hero will be "available from Orange UK retail stores [starting] tomorrow." The phone is already up on the operator's website in a delightful graphite hue, and the price of £0.00 on a pay monthly contract sure is luscious. So much for T-Mobile Germany getting a jump on everyone, huh?

Why the fuck can't this be in the US right now as well?
How? All the plans on the Oracle website are for 500MB data max.
So wait, TFT screen, does that mean resistive? Honest question.
I really, really, really, really like the look of the Hero. Everything about it just cries "Come touch me!" The chin isn't obscenely huge, either. Sweet.
Just ordered over the phone – 18months, 600mins, 500txts, Unlimited to landlines, 500mb Web. £24.47 a month plus £48.50 for the handset. About £10 cheaper per month than the quote on the site. I got a £5 per month discount for being an Orange Pay as Go customer.
I phoned Orange at 13.40 to upgrade, they'd sold out!!, more in 2-3 days.
I just ordered mine, I called at about half 5ish and i'm getting it on friday, They didn't say they're sold out, the phone cost me £50 for a £35 per month contract.... First contract with orange!
unlocked ebay goodness around the corner
Do want. How did they manage that?
FFS, that was meant for Turi's PC.
Well, went to Orange today to upgrade from my HTC Touch to the Hero only to be told it would cost me £166. I laughed at them and walked out the store... Seriously £166 for a phone...
What happened to customer loyalty, i've been with Orange for years and said i would upgrade my contract to £35 per month to get it cheaper (like a new customer does) and they said it would still cost me £166, so frak them and the horse they rode in on...
