Panasonic's Quick Power Dry hand dryer promises 2-3 second escapes from public toilets
Unless you're a member of the US Senate or a British pop star, most people aren't looking to linger about the dank confines of public toilets. Enter Panasonic and its new Quick Power Dry hand dryer that promises dry hands in just 2-3 seconds with the help of its 280MPH blower. That's an "industry fastest" dry-time according to Panasonic and a crushing blow (har!) to Dyson's Airblade that dries hands in 12 seconds despite 400MPH blasts of air. The wall-mountable Panny FJ-T13V1-W dryer is available now for ¥214,200 -- that's $2,280 in US monies which means you can forget about seeing 'em installed in the New York subway.

Indeed I have seen these dryers for the past 5 years - at least.
in denmark we alrdy have thes things,
made by dison that is.
boo to that - guess i'll be peeing on the wall of subway for some time to come.
...because there are no toilets in New York subway
The subway is the toilet!
I used one of these once. It's awesome because it works.
we have some of these here in london in some new toilets
Nice! Never have to shake again.
Agree with Jeff and others that may have said this has been around in Japan and other Asian countries. Not sure why a patent is being issued - maybe it collects the water and is attached to a water fountain on the other side of the wall. Or maybe it sprays soap, then water, drys and applies lotion. I have even seen this type of hand dryer in Chicago (Whole Foods Market to be specific and my memory is correct.)
I am not sure why I care and why I am taking the time to comment.
It's hard not to touch the sides in similar dryers. I sometimes end up washing my hands twice. Where's the time savings in that?
Wow...no one points out the biggest issues here.
First, at least half of guys don't even bother to wash their hands. You know you've seen it. So they handle their junk, grab the door handle, and walk out. Green dryers are great, but I'm still not touching a door handle in a public bathroom without some cloth or paper in between me and all the crabs crawling around the handle.
FAIL.
Push Button; Stinky Fingers
nice ass on her.
I agree ;)
Jeff have you ever been in japan?
i live here been here for 11 years, if you have some Japanese girl and try to be nice to her or you are japanese and make other think that japan is something better than anything out there than is all good, (if they never been in japan that is) but stop, Japanese copy everything from the west, so stop thinking that japanese are great, they are not.
guys if you see the Japanese style toilet is like from the 1900, they have the new toilet western design nothing you see out there is Japanese is just copy from the west, the true Japanese stuff is manga, and perverts.
They have these dryers in the bathrooms at the California Academy of Sciences.
Devices similar to these have been in the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport for a couple years now.
Cool i got to use one of these in a theater here in California. Feels a little weird.
Perhaps they never seen the dyson??

Maybe the installers just installed it upside down and it's suppose to be inverted and you put your hands up in it instead, I mean it's new, mistakes happen.
