I would say being tased would be my first choice, it might hurt like hell but should leave no lasting damage unlike the other too.
Not addressing whether they have restraint or not... but I'd rather be tased than shot.
I'm mostly referring to the "Don't tase me bro" video and a few others I have seen where Cops seem to have the situation under control and then still feel the need to further incapacitate the individual. My complaint isn't against the taser, its the person that's pulling the trigger that has a god complex.
Well that's a shame, but the only reason people become cops is that they have a god-complex. It sucks, but unless you become one, you can't really complain about the kind of people attracted to the profession.
False dichotomy is a sin.
The issue is many officers often use the Taser as a joke, they think it's a quick and easy way to deal with a situation when an old lady or someone is starting to scream. Cops have always been trained to take these people down by hand but in some situations the taser may be needed with someone wielding a weapon or something. The fact is there isn't enough training being done and so these tasers are being overused and promoted as safe when infact they do kill people. Lots of people die every year because of this. Just another weapon for the cops to kill us with.

I don't have a god complex, I became a police officer to help people. Just because you've had a bad experience with an officer doesn't mean we're all bad. It's like me saying every commenter on Engadget and Digg are anti-law enforcement, crazy liberal, Apple fan boys, but I know that's not true either.
