Viliv X70 EX Premium 3G on sale now in Hong Kong

The folks behind the Viliv brand of consumer electronics don't ever stop swinging, it seems. They hit us with the beloved X70, the keyboard-sportin' S7, and before we have a chance to blink they're back in the ring with the X70 EX Premium. Currently on sale in Hong Kong, this bad boy features optional 3G (in which case you should ask for the X70 EX Premium 3G) and sports a 1.3GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor, 1GB RAM, a 32GB SSD, and an SDHC slot for extra storage. As you've probably guessed, the display is your standard 7-inch with 1024 x 600 resolution. Throw in Windows XP, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and a GPS, and this guy is yours for $6,898 in Hong Kong bucks (roughly $890 US). No word yet on a Stateside release.
Update: Hello! You can pre-order this badboy in the States, courtesy of Dynamism. The site is offering the device at $599.99 along with a bundle of free accessories. So, if you absolutely must claim your spot in line today... you know where to look.

I like!
Slick device, and pretty nice specs for it's size.
its*
I ordered my X70 Premium minus the 3G from Dynamism earlier this month. Should be shipping real soon. Can't wait. I'm currently enjoying the Viliv S5. Great little device.
you have more money than sense. :) please dont cry when they release a 2GB, proper cpu version soon.

@OneLove - or it's entirely possible that MaXKiLLz doesn't have the cash flow constraints that you have, and the cost of the device is entirely acceptable when compared with the near-term utility that they're deriving from the device. If you can't afford the device then don't buy it, but stop hating on those that do have the means.
$890 is a little excessive for this thing.
Not if you compare it with the Sony Vaio P or any Apple crap product for that matter.
Yeah, Think I'll wait 'til October and get the Archos 9 for half that.
And I looking for $300 12" crunchpad.
Why's that hand Photoshopped on the picture? (Note the wicked Photoshopped shadow evenly around the hand.) Too cheap to take a picture with a hand on it?
You can't let your personal get their hands on it, before you know it they commit suicide and the cops come a knocking.
Isn't this the same model Dynamism is selling (well, accepting pre-orders) for $729?
No this one is more expensive :X
LAST!?
thats the longest index finger i ever seen lol
ah...thats what that thing was...i saw it on the train just the other day. the machine looks pretty slick but the guy using it wasnt...
I like this, but i bought a laptop a few months ago
These devices simply don't have a real home, IMO. At this price point (call it $600+) I don't understand what this does for anyone. Would you buy this over a netbook that is cheaper with better usability (real keyboard). What do you need a "PC in your pocket" for anyway? And, from the videos I have seen, I am guessing that people are not thrilled with the touch feel of this device - it looks like you need to be very exact or you do not get the desired effect.
These devices are for gadget junkies with cash to burn apparently. I think that these should be closer to $300 to make any sense as an impulse purchase.
I am really curious though - what do people do with these? (I saw the blog of the DJ that put the S5 in his car - fairly cool, I admit)

I tend to agree with this comment, as it describes me pretty much to a T. I already own an Asus Eee 1000H and a Viliv S5. I really don't "need" the X70, but it's just too cool to pass up. Just another neat toy to own.
Preordered mine a few weeks ago from Dynamism. Settled on this instead of HTC Touch Pro2, HTC Hero, or iPhone 3GS (some of those couldn't do what I need, and some won't be out before my Europe trip). Will have to see how Skype works over AT&T on this, since it'll basically be my main phone now :P
Once I get it, I will have the following uses for it:
1) Keep GPS loggs for geolocating trip photos
2) Edit the photos and use the 3G modem to upload them to Picasa during my trip instead of waiting till I come home
3) As a GPS device for my car and while exploring cities (GPS + Google Earth(or WikiMapia) = knowing everything around me = WIN!)
4) As a cell phone with Skype and Google Voice combo (with a bluetooth earpiece of course), where I only pay for data service.
5) Music/video/TV player for car/work/wherever (FINALLY can run full Rhapsody/Napster subscription on the go, instead of having to use Orb to rip DRM for my phone or pay extra for MP3 player sync)
6) Use this with tiny USB keyboard as full laptop for university classes (Word and Excel)
7) In portrait mode, as an eBook reader for my zinio Magazine subscriptions, books, and college textbooks (as well as lots of manga I've been wanting to catch up on, but don't feel like spending time in front of my PC reading)
8) Combine it with WinXP Tablet PC and MS Notes, and use it for taking notes at work instead of my overflowing paper notepad
9) Google Voice and an IM client for free, unlimited SMS and IMing on the go
10) Portable checkbook with Quicken (using PocketQuicken now) to keep track of expenses on the go
11) FINALLY have a fully working (flash and all) large screen browser on the go. (Skyfire for WinMobile works with flash, but screen is TINY, and things like google maps don't work)
etc. etc. etc.
A lot of these things I already currently do on my really old Windows Mobile device (a lot of this I apparently can't do on the iPhone or Android), but with all the stuff I mentioned, and on a full PC with a bigger screen, the $890 price tag makes it definitely worth it (the HTC Touch Pro2 would have cost me $800 unlocked)
omg.comment.system.
I cant believe that this is only being posted now, plus it is factually incorrect. The viliv x70 is the same as the viliv x70ex. same thing, but engadget is saying that they are different. Terrible job.
Disappeared the web site they did not ship the Viliv X70 and kept money and web site disappeared!
www.digital-trading-center.com
They opened another site and name that will disapperar again soon! Is:
