Samsung Galaxy with US 3G clears the FCC, but it's not what you think

Feeling a little envious of the Android-based Samsung Galaxy now available in Germany and soon to be available in other parts of Europe? Then you're in luck, sort of, as a new "A3LGTI7500L" model complete with US 3G has now sailed through the FCC. Unfortunately for those of us 'round these parts, that "L" at the end of the model name signifies that this particular model is intended for Latin America, but it's still about as close as you'll get to a practical option for the time being -- at least until those T-Mobile rumors pan out.

Why would it need to pass the FCC for a Latin American phone? (Not saying the article is wrong, I actually don't get why they'd bother passing it through the FCC)
So it can be imported and used in the US. Or Samsung can just rename the phone and sell it in the US/Canada.
Buy it unlocked in Latin America and enjoy 3G with AT&T/Rogers/Fido.
I wonder if T-Mobile US is going to released this phone.
Unlocked phones over here cost around 2 to 3 times more than in US. Trust me, I live with this shizz 24/7.
Imagine that the iPhone 3G costs around 1000 USD Unlocked. : )!!!!
On a happy side, finally an android phoneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee to LAaaaaaaaa.
On a sad side, it's going to be freaking expensive damn it :(!
I'm just going to buy an iPhone 3GS when I can upgrade, unlock and sell it on eBay, and just get an Android set from overseas. I can live without 3G, the wait is getting ridiculous.
Guess another triumph for T-mobile. minus the 3G included lol
but at least we know it's real and it's a matter of time(1 year) ha ha
before it hits tmobile
nice am moving to latin america next month
Hope they add more RAM to the US version.
Didn't the US version already pass like several months ago? The Euro phones also have the US 3g (T-Mobile bands) so what's the big deal? I'm guessing those that want to work it on ATT. Engadget should clarify.
The Galaxy's UMTS 1700 means I can use T-Mobile 3G in my local U.S. city... Right? Please say yes.
Yup!
Ha ha! :D It's available even in Croatia for around 300$!
Wow this is really great!!! I really like Samsung mobiles , actually I have a Samsung phone not so latest version. but its very nice phone, lots of applications, really great graphics. I will look forward to this latest version.
