Palm hires Apple vet Jeff Zwerner as new SVP of Brand Design
It's no secret that Palm has plenty of Apple veterans in its upper ranks (starting right at the top), and it looks like there now may be even more reminiscing about old times going on during lunch breaks, with the company recently announcing that it has hired Jeff Zwerner as its new Senior Vice President of Brand Design. In addition to working at Apple for a stint from 2001 to 2003 as Creative Director for Packaging and earlier from 1995 to 1996 as a Senior Art Director, Zwerner also founded the San Francisco branch of Factor Design, which has done work for Coca-Cola, Gap, GE, Hewlett-Packard, L.L. Bean, Nike, the Walt Disney Company and, yes, Apple.

Palm is losing money quarter after quarter. I doubt this will change anything!
Which is exactly why
a) Apple hasn't bought this company and set fire to the HQ
b) Apple hasn't sued them for patent infringement. There's nothing in the bank.
Nice photo.
I like that picture, it looks like Palm hired him then shrank him to pocket size and now keep him in a model convention hall.
I believe it's just bad, fake, bokeh.
With all these Apple people, is Palm a test case for what Apple will look like after Steve Jobs retires?
The photo hurts my eyes.
Just because he worked at Apple from 1995 to 1996 (before jobs' return) and 2001 to 2003 , doesn't mean he is an Apple vet.
I hope they brought him in, to improve the ads.
Just because you were in the army in 1988, doesn't mean you are an army vet.
Yeah, that made no sense either.
Of course, Palm just so happened to hire him by chance. Has nothing to do with his involvement with Apple.
Jeff is a great guy and designer I've had the pleasure of working with him on a number of projects. I wish him well in his new role.
Too much bokeh.
Palm is going to shoot itself in the foot if it isn't careful... Besides inadvertently tipping its hat to Apple in regards to design and quality, it will soon start looking like they are riding on Apples coattails in regards to success. I hope they can keep it original in spite of the heavy Apple influence.
Bokehlicious... there's something very wrong with this shot... *facepalm*
F11 is your friend.
F11 would make everything sharp. This photo was photoshopped to death with some sort of blur gradient. The depth of field is un-natural.
