Newton Peripherals' MoGo Mouse uglies up your netbook, hates your trackpad
It's one thing to sacrifice style for battery life via an extended cell, but it's another thing entirely to do this to your poor, innocent netbook. Newton Peripherals is causing all sorts of mixed emotions with its $99 MoGo Mouse, a stick-on mouse that measures in at five millimeters thick (including the holster). Granted, most netbook trackpads aren't worth the curiously textured material they're constructed from, but this just seems like an awfully short-sighted solution. After all, do you honestly think the average eBayer will be into buying a netbook with a mouse-infused lid? Doubtful.

This is their old Expresscard 54 mouse, with a stick-on holder and a USB charging cable.
Depends on how well that mouse works, though the last netbook I had (which I sold and got the "13 MBP) was able to do gestures using the trackpad which was really nice.
Any computer can do gestures with the trackpad, you just need to install the proper software.
lol @ spending 1/3 of the netbook cost to make it heinous
lol@"heinous"
Haha! It does make it ugly, but I'm not sure if it makes it heinous aka uber-evil.

Didn't mean to post that a 2nd time.. how the hell do you change your PW? I don't see any "account" link or anything.
Nevermind.. I see you can just click on your user name.
The mouse rocks, the holder sucks - and defeats the purpose of the design, that is to fit in ExpressCard slots.
Well, since this is the "netbook version," i suppose they had to do something to make up for the industry standard of no ExpressCard port.
I've seen worse ideas...
I love my Mogo mouse because it sits unobtrusively charging in my expresscard slot until I need it. If you're going to start sticking holsters to your netbook, you might as well just get a full-sized mouse.
eww...why?
If you want a clip on mouse, the logitech V550 is a much better option. It may not be thin, but at least it's dock is much less notable than this thing.
nasty
so being that netbooks don't have express card slots, how does this bad boy charge?
What a poor choice in design and price.
Not bad. Not unlike the idea I had to tape a tiny USB hub to the top. Then tah-dah, more USB ports.
Actually, I think it's a decent idea. Unfortunately, the price is way too high, and the charging of the mouse is an issue--may just be easier to use a small wired mouse ...
The article title is incorrect. It reads
"Newton Peripherals' MoGo Mouse uglies up your netbook, hates your trackpad"
but it should say
"Crapgadget: Newton Peripherals' MoGo Mouse uglies up your netbook, hates your trackpad"
This is what I use: http://us.kensington.com/html/13311.html
Not the smallest receiver, but it tucks away in the bottom until needed and has a low profile. Works great.
Well actually if you buy it from their site and use the promo code 5050 you get the whole package for half off. This includes the X54 mouse, holster and USB charging cable. Not a bad deal IMHO.
