Rumored Micro Four Thirds Panasonic GF1 gets pictured

Well, this one's a bit out of the blue, but a member of the Xitek.com forums has produced this image of a hereto unheard of Micro Four Thirds Panasonic Lumix GF1 that's purported to come from an internal Panasonic PDF. A second image (after the break, and full size at the link below), also reveals a few more interesting details, like a port below the hotshoe that would presumably be used for a detachable EVF, and a built-in pop-up flash. Otherwise, about all that's clear is that the camera itself appears to be slightly smaller than the Olympus E-P1, and that it's prompted an endless stream of speculation on the photography forums.

Doesn't look nearly as sexy as the EP-1
Hm, IMHO the Olympus EP1 is prettier.
I think you mean "hitherto", Donald.
if it's not a Leica lens, then why does it say "Leica" on both one of the lens attachments and on the body itself (lower right hand corner)? The cursive "L" stands for Leica, no? Don't think it stands for "Lumix."
unless its a fake pic.
I'm pretty certain these pics are fake. Look at the jaggedness of the mount. And the hotshoe doesn't even seem to be in the same perspective.
In terms of looks, I really do prefer the EP-1. That said, if this thing winds up with a viewfinder on it somehow, I'll be in line to buy one the day it goes on sale.
gonna have to shift around my junk after viewing this
The camera has a fingerprint reader (http://dpinterface.com/site-news/panasonic-lumix-gf1-leaked-features-fingerprint-reader/), in case no one has noticed. I wonder if Panasonic will make an allow/deny system before accessing pictures on the card
GF1 = first girlfriend? What is Pana trying to say?
Canon g10? pwnd.
Needs a bigger sensor (2x crop) why bother?
When compared to 135 film, 4:3 does have a 2x crop. But on the other hand it's several times LARGER than the ones in most digital compacts! The DP series are the only cameras around this size with an APS-C sensor (1.74x crop), and the poor high ISO of the Foveon sensor pretty much negates whatever advantage it could have had.
Got myself a Panasonic DMC G1 a few months ago and very happy I decided for that one. But if this one has the same electronic viewfinder as option, I'd almost want this one as second "take everywhere" camera! Won't be able to convince the wife, though.
Looks nice, but I love my E-P1 :D
