What CTA's iPhone steering wheel lacks in style, it also lacks in convenience

For many users, any game that ends up installed on an iPhone is something of an after-thought: It sits there, quietly, waiting for a spare moment in the dentist's waiting room or on the train. But CTA Digital, a company known for its various game controllers, has a vision of the future that includes people lugging around little plastic steering wheels with an iPhone-sized hole in the middle. We don't know how much this "Basic Steering Wheel for iPhone and iPod Touch" will actually bring the "feel of driving a real vehicle" to Ferrari GT, but the guy in the video sure looks like he's having fun. Allegedly works with most horizontally configured racing games, and includes adapters for the iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch, and iPod Touch 2G. See for yourself after the break.

It'd look like your bluetooth earpiece had grown to gigantic proportions.
Or, from a distance, you might look like a tiny person trying to use a normal-sized bluetooth earpiece.
Either way, not good.
This wheel could possibly be good at home, but for many the whole advantage to a device like the iPhone or PSP etc is the gaming-on-the-go aspect. And that wheel just won't fit in even my biggest jacket pocket.

its bad enough on the wii with all those dumb attachments for the wiiremote, now the iphone will be getting them too? whats next a tennis racket for the iphone? imagine someone answering the phone with that!

Er..... unless you are thumbless, that shouldn't be a problem. These add-ons are ridiculous though (same with WiiMote). How, exactly is holding a steering wheel in the air mimicking driving?

This defeats the purpose of Handheld Gaming
not to mention that when you turn the wheel, you'll need to rotate your head too so you can see the screen right side up

And the gaming community thought add-ons for the Wii were going to be bad...can you really see people carrying this around? I will laugh at them so hard and so fast.

Oh Boy! that does look like fun. And it gives you direct access to buttons on the iphones touch screen. You can even use it when your hanging upside down. Definitely another quality product. However they didn't state, do they mean high quality, low quality or downright crappy quality?
I think the quality directly correlates to the quality of that interesting choice of actor for the advertisement. We all want to buy one because we want to be just like him. Mmmmm quality advertising for a quality product.
That's even more stupid than the tripod for taking pictures with the iphone. Ridiculous....
