snow leopard is coming sooner :P
Haha, people still buy crap from Apple?! :D
yes
nobody cares about snow leopard
You mean Tiger Service Pack 2? Yeah, that's coming out sooner. And you are paying for a service pack.
at least I am paying $30 for a a GOOD update,, rather than paying hundreds for Vista (depending on which of the ten versions is best for you!)
and then be ripped off again and pay another $100-$200 for an excuse of a OS called Windows 7, which is basically a face lifted vista where you guys were given stuff that was supposed to be in vista
Plus,, OS X will never have an update that is so bad that people will want to DOWNGRADE to XP,,
this is pathetic
Im sure all 5 of you out there will enjoy this service pack.
I gotta ask... how long have you been using OSX?
Do you even remember...
- How horribly slow 10.0 and 10.1 were?
- How Apple actually shipped machines that dual-booted OS X and OS9 on it (my 2001 Quicksilver shipped with both)?
- How Apple charged $129 for upgrades for 10.4 and 10.5?
For all the crap that Microsoft has taken for Vista, you have to remember two major things;
1) Microsoft doesn't have the luxury of vertical integration, and has to support MUCH larger hardware ecosystem than Apple does. This leads to stuff like poorly written graphics drivers bringing down the system, or other problems that get attributed to Microsoft.
2) For all intents and purposes, Vista was a big of an undertaking as NT4 -> Win2000, and took much longer, leading to people (both end users and developers) getting used to XP. As with the NT4 to 2000 upgrade (or OS9 to OS X upgrade), things get broken and people who are used to the old ways of doing things get mad. That's just the way things go.
With those things said, Vista is IMO a very good and stable OS. But, you guys aren't gonna change your opinions or biases because of a post on the internet, so this entire thing is kinda a waste...
You are all a bunch of idiots. Seriously, who cares which OS you use? Or do you really think that your idiotic ramblings make a difference? Here's a couple of facts for you:
1. Windows 7 is actually pretty good so I don't see people switching to the Mac much more if their Windows computer comes with it.
2. I have no intention of switching back to Windows because Windows 7 isn't THAT good - no one with a current Mac will be switching to Windows 7.
@kelmon
Wrong.
Windows 7 is the first since 98SE that I won't be getting my refund for. But making fun of someone for paying too much for an OS should not be done by Windows users, especially since 7 is what people should have got with Vista. Microsoft also really needs to do away with all these versions, there is no reason "Ultimate" should cost so bloody much more than the basic version.
