Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
Hmmm, be fun to play with but not really compeling enough to buy.
Surpasses the iPhone in every way so I don't see why not.
Hurry! Someone take this idiot(Jakko)'s flamebait!!!
So what's the big deal? I know tonnes of people that have dropped their cell phones in water. I even dropped my old Kyocera 7135 into a muddy puddle. The only real trick is to get the damn thing to work again after....
I like that ringtone. Anyone know it's name?
No fish WERE harmed*
...but imprisoned and tortured for life.
Engadget has a water fetish.
Really Cool but not worth buying imho.....
No but it's good to see the technology is getting closer to Nina Sharp's all-glass phone on Fringe. . . .
why is the weekend such a slow news day? i only get time to read engadget on weekends lol.....this post been up there till early morning
Well if you only read Engadget on weekends then you should have a full week of posts to catch up to. To you, it shouldn't feel like a slow news day at all.
I'm guessing that it's no coincidence there is no video of the phone actually being used in its "water-resistant" case. I'm not really sure how someone would mfg such a case for a slider phone, but odds are the phone in the video is not actually as functional as it was before the mod.
cool phone
Bahahaha... you can see that the phone is shrink wrapped!
FAIL!
It's still a mod...kind of.
Heh.
Apparently it takes an ingenious modder to wrap a phone in shrink wrap.
I think my eyes are going. I didn't realize it was shrink-wrapped until I saw your comment. I do, however, know many friends that enjoy fishing which have lost cellphones in the great lakes of Ontario. Even if it's shrink-wrapped I think they would appreciate having a waterproof phone. It's definitely not foolproof though.
LG and Samsung constantly produce some of the most interesting phones money can buy.
Just try using the OmniaHD for a few minutes and you'll get an idea of what Apple would have liked (and failed) to achieve with the iPhone.
I start to wonder if I should have gotten one myself instead of my Nokia N97.
it's just a transparent food membrane ;)
Can it float?
Doesn't really matter if it still works if you can't find it!
I did that to my phone when Verizon Wireless LIED to me about dead spots and I actually bought the house in the dead-zone that they said wouldnt ever occur. Then I switched to ATT with the iPhone and I will never look back. I actually have to thank Verizon Wireless for getting me out of that company. Glad I switched.
that isn't a fish tank ... sucks to be those neons ..
Harlequin rasboras, not neons. My fish geekery is superior.
