More evidence mounting of an 8GB iPhone 3GS?

Well, kids, we don't know if this is a typo, a Freudian slip, or both (or neither), but according to this handy graphic on Rogers' website the rumored 8GB iPhone 3GS exists -- if not for sale, at least for comparison. Keen readers of charts will note that the price listed for the 3GS still starts with the 16GB model, and if you scroll through to the ordering page there is no 8GB 3GS option listed. So, what do you think? Do we have a promising development here, or a simple case of a misplaced check mark? Feel free to sound off in the comments.
Update: Yeah, that's right: An email from Rogers has confirmed that it is just a typo after all, and that it's "being corrected asap."

Who cares! Shut up with all the iPhone stuff! Is annoying!
YOOOOU CAAAANNNNNTTTTT AFFOOOOOORRRRDDDDDDDD IT, YOU ON THE WELFARE. (Eddie Murphy)
seriously though, iPhone stuff getting old. It doesn't need to take up EVERY damn topic and be gone on and on about, doesn't everyone have one now anyway?
In honor of your friend and mine, PC, I will hijack this thread to speak on marginally related topics.
Nah, but really, I understand that iPhone is still the sexy tech item around here. However, it does get a ton of rumor press, many would say disproportionately so. I want a rumor update on the Motorola StarTac, has it been MMS enabled yet?
Considering there is only ONE post on the front page that is about the iPhone (and then one other that just mentions it) I think you guys are being a bit overdramatic.
Here's the easy way to fix it though... you open up Engadget to see an iPhone story on the page. You think it is ridiculous that they could possibly report anything else iPhone related. Oh... but then you realize that you can easily just SCROLL DOWN AND SKIP THE F&%$KING STORY!
Seriously. Don't read it. Just move along and read something else. Find another site more to your liking. Just STFU already.
@ack154, are you really suggesting that the internet isn't made for every human being?
You're so right, same people who complains about MJ's death or in a more local form; another drunken Swede naked in Copenhagen.. Don't like the post, ignore it, don't like Engadget, ignore them. Seriously I think they're doing a great job and delivered free to us readers...
iPhone news are interesting, every rumor about it aren't!
If they actually find to confirm the rumor then by all means splat it all over the front page with reviews and pictures of the box. Until then, post something else that actually exists!
Thank you. I am so sick of all the iPhone $h!t. Why can't they leave all this crap on TUAW (The Unofficial Apple Weblog) which so happens to be a sister site designed specifically for the iPhone. That way all the iTards could go there to whack off to the latest screen cap of a Best Buy register showing iPhone stock and the rest of us could waste less time writing inane and bile filled responses to these annoying articles and could instead focus our attentions on the articles covering SSDs or the latest advances in laser computing....you know...real tech stuff.
It is probably misplaced, at the top it says "starting at $199 | 16GB"

Time for apple to make something new so we all talk/argue about that instead. Iphone/Ipod is getting old. Bring on the Zune HD?
Bring on the Creative Zii
Likely, I'm sure given the opportunity Apple would like AT&T to pay the whole subsidy and just offer free iphones, AT&T/Rogers get people to sign up for $30 data plans and Apple moves 20+ million phones, everyone is happy, except everyone else in the phone industry.
I think maybe they were trying to say that both models of the iPhone 3GS technically had 8GB of space...and more. Technically, they do allow 8GB of space....plus 8 or 24...LOL!
That's what I'm thinking.... I mean if it has 16GB does it not therefore also have 8GB?
Big Deal.
Or it looks like Rogers just found a way to stick it to yeah a little more. Introducing the iPhone 3GS 8GB starting at 199.99, 16GB at $299.99, and 32GB as $399.99, you're welcome.
I still think compass is funny. I mean as a groundbreaking feature it puts us back in 1492.
Rogers is getting their website redone as we speak (just the phone portion) and this could easily be some sort of glitch. Apparently the completion date is this Saturday, so if it's still there at that point it might mean something.
It's about time. For an internet provider, their website was embarassing...though right on par with the Rogers quality I've come to know and hate.
Angry man is angry.
That 8GB Model is the 3G. Not 3GS.
Came to say this, thats what I'm reading to.
Where does it say 3GS? I only see an 8 gig 3G.....
A phone with 16gig obviously has 8gigs...its a typo and when they put stating at 199 (the price of a 16gig iphone) unless they are raising the price of the 16 gig iphone it just doesn't make sense.
fail article is a failure.
Who cares indeed. Let me know when they are coming out with a new iPhone that is significantly different than the current one... and is running on more carriers than just AT&T
I wish the typo was "64GB."
I wish the typo was "128GB."
I wish the typo was "2TB."
end of transmission.
Baiting people with a $99 price tag and then introducing a 3GS of the same capacity would be an epic dick move.
Would you explect anything less from Apple?
There was an 8gb iPhone for 2 years now....1g,2g,3g...same memory inside.
Looks like a poorly designed chart to me. The column specifically lists the 16GB model, yet there are check marks next to both 8GB and 32GB? Stupid.
I'm surprised this hasn't come up yet?
Anyone working for Rogers KNOWS there's an 8GB 3GS launching soon. It's already up in our Hardware Upgrade inventories for iPhones. I stumbled upon it by accident the other day when processing a regular 8GB 3G upgrade. There were two SKU's in the system and one (which was the one I selected) specifically said 8GB 3GS ($99).
Coincidence? Definitely not.
man. Do you have pics? I really want this to happen. $100 is an awesome price for that phone under contract. Screw the 8 gigs I'd be missing out on... it's actually still an upgrade from my 4GB :P
I'll try to get a screenie up at home after my shift.
Screenshot NOW!
Yes Apples well known for selling budget low end devices ;P
Why on earth would they release a 8GB $99 dollar device when they can't even keep up with demand for the 16 and 32's.
Wake up people.
