Tainell kicks out Atom-powered T500 MID for China

Well, it looks like folks in search of an alternative to Viliv's S5 MID now have another option -- in China, at least, where Tainell has just rolled out its new T500 handheld. Like the S5, this one packs a 5-inch display and the usual Atom Z510 processor, along with some decent enough specs all around, including 1GB of RAM, a 32GB SSD, a built-in webcam, integrated Bluetooth, GPS, and 3G, and Windows XP for an OS. No word on a price just yet, unfortunately, let alone any indication of a release outside of China.

For the love of jeebus 2GB of ram please. (unless its got a user upgradable slot)
Blame Microsoft.
There is almost no chance that these specs can be totally true. For one, for some stupid reason, only the most expensive computers in China are equipped with Bluetooth, which leads me to think that they're going to cut corners on everything else.

A lot of 500-600 yuan cheapo phones and 4000 yuan laptops have BT, the hardware costs next to nothing, drivers shouldn't be an issue because it's XP, so I don't see why they need to cut corners just to add BT.
i don't either, but it happens. and it's made worse by the fact that you can get the same or better machines with bluetooth right across the border in hong kong for CHEAPER
I have no idea what you're talking about...when I was in China I don't recall only high end computers having bluetooth. And all the netbooks had the same feature sets they have elsewhere for the same price as everywhere else.
Worst case China also has like $3 bluetooth dongles so I don't think this is a big deal one way or the other.
Maybe a lot of computers just don't carry it because most people don't need bluetooth on their PCs. I very, very, rarely use bluetooth on any of my computers and all of them have bluetooth lol.
That's right, you have no idea what I'm talking about because you "don't recall" what I'm describing since you, yourself, "very, very rarely use bluetooth... lol."
There's all kinds of flawed logic in there, my man. Try looking for it next time. Yes, it IS cheap, but yes, it is ALSO a stupid omission. Seriously, go look for it. And while you're at it, price compare. Make sure you also take into account the fact that they DON'T bundle legit licenses of M$ Windoze, too.
well we already got a "first" so i guess I'll add to this conversation....
Looks nice...BUT WILL IT BLEND?
I really feel sorry for you.
It's definitely time you consider the possibility of euthanasia to put an end to your meaningles existence.
SECOND!
Yes, we already have a "first!" but there's always room for a "second!" tard. :)
Is that the zune XP theme?
Nice - They are using the "Zune" social background - except - they photoshopped the Zune logo out of it...

XP on a 5 incher with that res? Wow.
THIRD!
Yes, I would buy it , but only if it would cost no more than 50 euros.
60 if the the multimedia specs are really impressive.
This is really a cool gadget!,which can be a great alternative for any other so used gadget in the market now.
Wow really nice product. Why don't stores release stuff like this in the states - tired of overpriced iPods & zunes with half os's and piece meal the hardware features one a year. Small footprint runs full os, has nice specs gps etc.. how nice. Make me an ubuntu one & it's sold :)
