Turns out GameStop's October 13th listing for Tony Hawk: RIDE was just a hair off, to the tune of 36 days or so. Activison Blizzard's sent word today that the skating simulator's official North American launch is set for November 17th -- plenty of time to practice your faux ollies before showing your family some virtual board skills over Thanksgiving meals. Additionally, Europe's now official for November 20th, but we already heard that
last week. No word on pricing, but across the pond,
GAME.co.uk is pushing that £99 / $168 figure pretty hard, and while we're willing to bet that's the official Europe price, we're not convinced that's any indication of what we'll be paying stateside.
This is going to epically fail.
Wasn't this made 10 years ago with worse graphics? It wasn't a hit then why would it be now? Skate 1&2 completely blew away any chance Tony Hawk had at selling video games anymore.
£99? So that would be $99 in real money right?
No, monopoly money has to be converted as it was done in the article.
Expensive little controller.
I hope its not gimicky and the board actually makes it a new, dynamic tony hawk game.
im still trying to understand how those controls on the side of the board work. if im standing up, am i gonna have to bend all the way down everytime theres a menu? looks annoying
tony hawk will give me a ride to gamestop?
on a wanna be surf board?
Looks intersting but they need to release a longer more detailed gameplay trailer to give people a better idea of how the complete game will play. especially if its gonna cost that much. Also to say that tony hawk is dead now because of skate is not correct because they are two completely different styles of play. Some probably appreciate Hawk's ease of play and over the top style. But the tony hawk series lost my interest by releasing too many sequels each year
This is one of the most epic fails i seen even more worse than the Wii Vitality sensor or the wii bowling ball control no the bowling ball is a nightmare, plus $168 for this crap no thank you
or i could buy 3 games that don't require a big ass peripheral for the same price and have a lot more fun.
but i cant wait to see the vids of these boards going through TVs
Uh, it's not going to be $168. It is over here in crazy land (home of the $8 gallon), but I'd imagine this will go for something like $129 in the states.
Just to clarify, that was directed at the above comments, not the article.
I thought it was gonna be made in white, did they change it to black? If so good on them.
If they just agree to release the first few Tony Hawk Pro Skater games on PSN, I'll forget this ever happened. Remember how awesome it was the first time you skated around that warehouse level?
