Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"As someone who doesn't reside in the USA, I was wondering what would be the best way to get internet for my computer in the US for a couple of weeks? If it were Europe I know I'd look for some prepaid data. Is there anything similar offered by American carriers? A MiFi or a data SIM that I can tether from would work, but I'm trying to maintain a tight budget. Help!"
Ohhh boy... just another reason to stick with Android.
I really love how Microsoft "forget" about markets where there is no competition in.
Suddenly iPhone came along and they were 5 years behind, then Android came from behind and pushed WIMo all the way back.
Now Microsoft have to start all over because they are loosing grounds here with their shitty Mobile OS....
Remember back when Microsoft said IE6 was the final version of IE and there would no longer come updates or version to the browser.. ever... Then firefox came along.. and BOY... suddenly it became a major focus again.
Imagine if OSX wasent around.... then there would have been no windows 7 presumably...
Its a bad habit.
Hope they get 'a bit better' to treat us costumers 'a bit better' in the future.
And that right there is a perfect demonstration of why competition is so important.
Even the analysts are catching on. This is a company that does NOTHING but copy from others, especially Apple. The GUIs, the music stores, the freaking retail stores, the iPods. Its absolutely pathetic.
@Dax
Oh right.
Excuse me whilst I laugh at you.
Dax:
Not as pathetic as your comment.
@Dax
Oh did Apple invent the retail store...Wow there amazing friend.....
That's silly. Competition is why ANY company improves its products. You think Apple wanted to "give the world a better UI"? No, they just realized that smartphones were a HUGE market that hadn't been tapped (except in the corporate world by the frustratingly-bad WinMo and the mediocre BlackBerry). And of course, Apple banked on what it does best: style and usability.
I'm not denying that Microsoft's stance is ridiculous as well, but lack of competition breeds lack of innovation, for any company in any industry.
