Flash Zunes mysteriously disappear from Zune site
[Thanks, Nathan]
Microsoft Zune 4
A look back on popular stories from today in a specific year.

Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
Maybe they're quietly updating the 8GB. I really do like my Zune. Is it perfect? Nope. The battery life in particular is my biggest gripe. I also wish it came with normalization and the ability to play a wider variety of file types.
I actually spent two weeks looking for one in town... I knew something was up when all of the Best Buys, Targets, and Wal-Marts in town were sold out. From what I heard they hadn't gotten any shipments in for several weeks, so they've been phasing these out for a while...
I still dig the design of this little player. Fie, fie the lack of USB support. 'Twould certainly be good to swipe some for cheap.
Although a $39.99 woot would probably cure me my I-won't-hack-cuz-they-shudda-just-included-it principles.
And...where is the black 120 ? Only red and blue ?
I don't understand this. Are they getting rid of all their smaller players? Apple seems to do ok with the Nano, you'd think they'd want a competitor for customers who want that form factor.
They havnt had much of any zunes in canada for a looooong time. Someoen at futureshop suggested they maybe improving what sout there now.
Sorry that was a rushed post. For the longest time, no retailer has received any new shipments of Zune, theyve just been selling of what theyve had. It was suggested to me from a retailer that, they are not discontinuing Zune sales in canada, they just assume that a newer model is on its away out. NOT including the Zune HD.
Call me foolish, but I'll be buying an HD when it comes out, it's quite possibly cooler than my iPhone, even without the ability to make calls :)
Yes, go ahead and switch from your iPhone or iPod Touch to the Zune HD ( HD tag used to trick unsuspecting neophytes ). While you watch in envy as iPhone and iPod Touch users play these excellent mobile games.

or the HD tag could be used to indicate that it has an HD radio and can output HD video.
Judging by the looks of things, Jubei hasn't played a single one of "these excellent mobile games". Those games look like they play like shit, but they would certainly LOOK better on the Zune due to the superior power of the Nvidia Tegra chip- that and Microsoft's well known prowess in the video game community would push that fact even further. Want to play games? Get a PSP. PSP dominates anything and everything the iPhone has for games.
Well, this only applies to zunestore.net. If you go to Zune.net, you can still find the flash models
So - what does all this mean?
Oh well. I was always slightly confused by the fact that there was so much wasted space between the edge of the device and the actual usable screen.
Still seems like a bit of a mistake to completely kill the line when you could just slap an accelerometer in them, make the screens larger, and up the capacity the same as Apple will do for their Nanos. Maybe they're going to do something cool? Zune HD is definitely where the party will be, though.
Well luckily I have my Zune 8 to tide me over until the Zune HD comes out.
Very slick UI on the zuneHD. I hope they come out in 64gb. I am also hoping for more accessories like what the ipods have.
